I just bought the N97 having a customer service person in Nokia telling me that the N97 is able to sync with Mac provided if I go online (<a href="http://ovi.com" rel="nofollow">ovi.com</a>) to download the plug-ins. Cant believe he lied to me!!! <br>I am now with my new N97 and realised that I cannot find any Plug-ins that supports N97 and am terribly upset because its an expensive phone and I really expect quite a bit from it and the last thing I need is to realize I have to manually transfer my contacts one by one to my new phone!!!! when and where can I get the plug-ins for Isync????? Someone help!

i was told by one of the customer service officer at the Nokia store that I could sync N97 to the Mac and all i needed to do was to go online to the ovi store to download a plug-in. When I got back with the phone, I realised that N97 is one of the few models that does not have a isync plug-in! I cannot believe this because the N97 does not come cheap and I am now going to have to manually transfer all my contacts from my macbook to the new phone????? This is unreal! i am so going to call my Nokia to complain about this matter~!!! I would have hesitated if I knew N97 was not able to sync to my mac!!!

I found this guide (http://klauskjeldsen.dk/2007/04/20/how-to-isync-a-nokia-6300-on-mac-os-x/) on how to enable the Nokia 6300 in iSync on MAC, and it seems to work. I believe that the same idea can be used to enable other unsupported phones as well.

Have a look at the Apple discussion forum for a free plugin set (that has worked well for me with iSync 2.4 and a Nokia E70-2). It may be useful for a number of people heretofore out of luck.

Hi Stef and others having the same problems. There might be a solution - but unfortunately its not MacTomster at this point. I have mailed that fine gent and hope to hear from him in reply - but failing that, I have set a cut off for the end of this week before I go get a solution from Nova Media for 16 or so Euros

PLEASE CHECK THIS URL :

http://www.novamedia.de/sync/index.html

They appear to be a very good company and I am thinking that if I cannot get a solution from MacTomster I would go ahead and spring for their commercial plugin. The only thing that worries me is that it is guaranteeing support for Isync 2.3 - what happens thereafter is a big question. They commit to support for 1 year but i have no experience on how long it would take them to get an updated driver out INCASE the next version of isync threw everything out of sync again. Still there is a possiblity that the next version of Isync might actually support the phones we have - so its really a guessing game. BUT at 15 or 16 euros - its acceptable risk.

Good luck and keep posting . If anyone finds a solution pl mail me on nadirkaranjia@mac.com thanks and good luck y'all

[...] How to Use Nokia PC Suite on a Mac Filed under: Nokia News — issel @ 8:25 pm I know there are Mac users out there like me who are complaining that Nokia does not have a Nokia PC Suite for Macs (or Nokia ‘Mac’ Suite). I don’t want to get into a Mac versus PC argument, but it should be made available even if we are only a small percentage of the market. So far, we resort to the iSync plugin to synchronize just the contacts and the calendar. The Nokia PC Suite offers a lot more. Fortunately, nothing is impossible. There is a way to use the Nokia PC Suite on the Mac. Here’s how. [...]

Hi Everyone,

I am in a bit of a mess here - bought the 6300 based largely on the fact that it was listed as a supported series 40 device on Mactomster - but keep getting the Isync message "Nokia 6300 This device is not supported by Isync"

Basically I am jiggered.

If there is any process I have not followed (I cant imagine which) please do let me know. the perplexing thing is the installation guide says "copy .... with Apple C......" can anyone shead some light on what that means ? I cannot figure it out.

Thanks PLEASE help !!!!

Looks like you no longer need this guide! The latest beta of Parallels recognized my Nokia N93 just by connecting my phone.

I am having the same trouble as Eskr above. I did copy the file folder to my main library. My N93 is paired to my Macbook. I am able to transfer files without a problem and iSync did find my phone. However when I try to sync I get the following message:
Thursday, January 11, 2007 9:44 PM
[NOKIA N93] An unexpected error occured.
Device "NOKIA N93" synchronization failed

What am I doing wrong or what do I need to do?

Thanks!

Thanks for the tip! My brand new N93 is synced up with my MacBook and I am one happy camper. At the risk of sounding preachy, if you do find the mactomster iSync plug-in useful, please send the developer a donation via PayPal. He's solved a huge problem for us Mac folk.
