Nokia has given eight snowboarders the Nokia N93 to help them chase the perfect powder day – the type of day that happens once a year that keeps you energized on your mission to chase the storm. They launched the website, The Storm Chasers, to document their tour. They posted some videos up already with their phones.

I asked one of the chasers, Max Jenke, some questions. He told me about how the partnership with Nokia started. A few years ago Endeavor Snowboards produced some limited edition Nokia N Gage snowboards for the team. He says,

the industry marketing manager wanted to use a local company to help him make some promotional stuff. we had creative control on the project – they just wanted some great looking product. most of the guys in the company snowboard, so i think they were really stoked

I know it’s hard to capture footage while snowboarding, but with the Nokia N93, it makes it easier because of its size. I tried taking a video of my ski trip last month, but I took it slow. The team on the other hand are not afraid to use the phones to the limit.

our guys definitely put them to the test. but these have definitely held up more than the N90s that we had last year

Max says that the team are expecting to get the Nokia N93i and the Nokia N95 very soon. I can’t wait to see them use it action.
