I’ll tell you how my Nokia N95 saved me from trouble with the girlfriend. I am very thankful for its phone, text messaging, internet, and GPS functions, or else I would still be in the doghouse. Coming from Miami, her flight was supposed to arrive at JFK International Airport around 7PM. I promised to pick her up. But then trouble began…Here is a basic run-through of what happened yesterday:3:30PM She calls letting me know she can’t wait to see me and tells me her flight arrives at 7PM. We’re excited to meet up at the airport.4:00PM The guys call letting me know to meet at the park to play tennis.5:50PM Missed calls; I did not hear the phone while playing tennis. She leaves voicemail saying the flight is delayed.
6:30PM Text message from her letting me know that her plane is delayed again leaving Miami at 7:30PM and that I should check online to find out when it arrives at JFK. I opened up the internet web browser on the
Nokia N95 and searched for her flight number.
FlightStats.com tells me that her plane will arrive at 11:35PM.
8:00PM After playing tennis, the guys say meet at
BKNY Thai restaurant around 9:30PM for dinner. I tell them sure, but I have to leave restaurant by 11PM so I have enough time to drive to
JFK Airport.
10:00PM We’re late. We get to the restaurant and start ordering.
10:05PM She calls asking me where I am. My response was, “WHAT?! You’re there already!?!” I told her that her flight was not suppose to arrive until 11:35PM. I can already hear her getting mad and disappointed over the phone as I tell my friends I had to leave. She was just getting off the plane, so I figured I still had time to drive over to the airport. I turned on the GPS navigation on my
Nokia N95, to help me get to the airport from the restaurant.
10:30PM I arrive at the terminal at the same time she stepped out. I pulled over near the car services stop. Woohoo! I thought I was safe.
10:35PM She gets in the car still looking mad. I asked why. She says…”You’re still in trouble. We didn’t have a romantic-movie-moment at the airport.” =(
