Hi Mark!

I'm writing you because I'm a Mac user, pro filmmaker who's been using Final Cut Pro since version 1.0, and possibly a newcomer to the Nokia world.
The iPhone comes with too many strings attached for me (contracts, wait periods, etc.) and it does not seem to have the video-making prowess of the N93 or N95.

I was thinking of getting an N93i, I like the look, I like the videocam qualities (flip out screen, optical zoom), and don't feel like i need all the extra bells and whistles of the N95.
But I just wanted to make extra specially sure that compatibility with a Mac is good. Downloading footage and editing in FCP is not a problem for you obviously... how about uploading movies to watch on the plane (is there a plane-safe mode?) or transferring songs/photos/contacts/etc. Is there a Mac-friendly application? I looked at some links I found here in NokiaBlog, but they all took me to "dead" corners of the Nokia site.
Just wanted to make sure that a) N93i is still the best buy for a filmmaker who wants to have a good phone that is also a good videocamera, and b) that there are no serious drawbacks as far as Mac-compatibility, especially with video editing and video blogging.

P.S. I'm also living in Hong Kong, just thought I'd throw it in there. (also why I don't want to wait for an iPhone) Also, it's PAL territory. And I know that the N93i shoots 640 x 480 30 fps NTSC footage. Oh well. guess I won't watch the footage on a PAL tv. It's gonna end up mostly on my FaceBook and YouTube anyway.

P.P.S. Oh, does the N93i also work as a webcam by any chance? I'm operating from a Powebook G4 with no built-in camera....!

I know that's a lot of questions, but I can use all the detailed advice I can get, and you seem to be just the man for it... Thanks!

I couldn't add audio transitions with iMovie 08 and I can't select certain parts of audio to add (they must all start at the beginning). But then again, Steve Jobs said if you want real movie editing, go buy Final Cut.

Maybe in the next upgrades they'll add back the features from the previous version.

Hey, have you tried kyte from your Nokia phone? You can report live via your phone straight from the trip - pictures, videos, chat, etc. The video quality straight from the Java app is limited, given the Java limitations, but you can send them in higher quality straight to your channel via email (e.g. marktv@kyte.tv).
