When the black Nokia N95 8GB hit the FCC this week, a sneak preview of the new multimedia appeared in the user guide. I never really paid attention to the multimedia menu in my phones, but the upcoming one seems more usable. I zoomed in on the new multimedia menu and took some guesses what the icons represented.

According to the guide,

With the multimedia menu, you can view your most frequently used multimedia content. The selected content is shown in the appropriate application.

I’m not sure whether this multimedia menu is exclusive to the Nokia N95 8GB or available to all upcoming Nseries phones. We’ll have to wait and see. Keep in mind that the current Nokia N95 has a unique multimedia menu, different the rest.

I have analyzed it a bit and took some guesses what the icons may be. The guesses are taken by zooming at the icons and comparing them with the icons in the multimedia menu of my current Nokia N95 as illustrated on the left. My guesses are pictured below.

I can’t wait to see how many I got right LOL. Hopefully I’ll be able to play with some of the upcoming Nokia phones soon to find out.
