Nokia N95-3 Sample Night Indoor Photos From Halloween House Party
I used my recently reviewed Nokia N95 (NAM or N95-3 version) to take pictures from our Halloween house party this past weekend. Cameraphones are known not to do well indoors especially at night with poor lighting and you can see that on some of the picures. However, some of the pictures in the brighter rooms actually came out pretty well. Check it out.
I’m sure all the Nokia N95 owners experience this scenario over and over again when taking pictures at night because I went through this conversation a few times that night.
You: Is it okay if you take a picture?
Friend: Sure, just click this button?
You: Yes.
Friend: Whoa… is this a phone?
You: Yep and a whole bunch of other things.
Friend: Okay. [presses button and camera flashes]
Friend: [Looks at the screen] It looks dark. Let me take it again.
You: Nope, it takes a few seconds for the picture to come up. Take a look again.
Friend: Ohhh! Nice phone!
You: Yes it is… you should go to thenokiablog.com to find out more about it! ( Okay… you don’t have to say the last part, but I usually do! )
You can see the rest of the pictures at my Flickr Halloween Set. Not a bad night to start the Halloween weekend.

My usual experience when taking a picture (especially in a club, for example), is that the people smile…the people see the flash…the people rush up beside me to see themselves on the screen…
..then comes the uncomfortable pause: “Wait for it… it’s coming… hold on… there it is!”

I am still desperately seeking for an option to increase the quality of dark light fotos. The built in flash LED only covers a range of about 2 meters and the colors are poor in that situation.
Additional flash lights that are designed to recognize the camera’s flash and fire in that moment too, do not recognize the LED flash and stay dark. I tested two of that kind without success.
Any other idea how to add some light to the fotos?
