Preview: Nokia N82 Hands On Impressions by Symbian-Freak

Symbian-Freak has an early review of the Nokia N82. What makes this new Nokia Nseries device stands out? It’s the first Nseries phone with bright xenon flash for better night photos. But that’s not all! It also features auto screen rotation that Symbian-Freak claims to be better than the iPhone!

The rotation is definitely smoother and looks better with the iPhone, actually to be precise with an iPhone you can actually see the rotation while the Nokia just switch from one to another mode without any kind of transition when rotating.

I would like to get my hands on this phone to see how good the flash is. People might be disappointed that the screen is only 2.4 inches compared to 2.6 on my recently reviewed Nokia N95 (aka N95-3 or N95 NAM version), and the 2.8 inch screen of the Nokia N95 8GB.

Screen auto-rotation is cool, but it won’t be a unique feature to the Nokia N82 because of RotateMe 2.0 software available soon to the Nokia N95 with a built-in accelerometer.

I have a guess that the Nokia N82 will be announced next week on November 13th, because of an email invitation I received. More details on that in the next post.

  • Hi,
This looks a great new phone.

HI i went onto www.jaspp.net an they show brilliant photos of the N82 from the front an back an sidewards it looks a very good mobile indeed an its got some speakers at the top an bottom on one of the sides they show if its got the same at the other side its going to be very loud indeed, the screens just a little smaller the N95 but whos bothered just as long the mobile can take to quality photos an the flash looks very good indeed, just want to read some reviews about the keypads though as they look very small indeed an hope there not awkward to use
  • Andy Burgin
Hope Nokia do not make the same mistake with the N82 as they did with the frst batch of the N95s put loads of features on the N82 then the battery on the mobile can not withstand heavy usage of the functions an your battery gets drained out very quick, the body looks as though Nokia as used the N73s main body but the N73 got pulled down a bit about the size of the front keypads,Nokia as used the slot type keypads we have been seeing on the recent Sony Ericsson mobiles but i do not like these at all, unless they are easy to press so a will be eagerly looking for any review about keypad simplicity before i decide to get N82 or not
