Vlog: Nokia N82 Versus Nokia N95 Night Photos

The Nokia N82′s major improvement over other Nseries device is its xenon flash. How does it compare to the Nokia N95‘s flash? Well, I took a video of this face-off and was not surprised at the result. The Nokia N82 is the imaging king. Check the video.

The two photos taken in the video are included below. Nokia N95 first, and then the Nokia N82. This was pretty obvious, but I made this video so you can see the big difference.

UPDATE:
A lot of people are saying that the Nokia N95 photo is fake or in night mode. Let me clarify. I think the wall was too far for the Nokia N95′s flash to illuminate it. For a more fair comparision, I took pictures of an object in front of both cameras so you can have a better comparison. I don’t even think I need to tell you which photo was taken with what camera. Both pictures were taken in complete darkness under automatic mode.

    In this test I was pointing the camera towards the wall. The N95 picture looks horrible in this test but I think it’ll be more fair contest if I took a picture of people in front of the camera.

    I have plenty of night pics taken with the N95 with people in front of the camera. They look fine. The problem with the pics above is that the wall was too far for the N95′s flash to reach and there’s no people.

    it’s fake for sure as i have just tried taking picture frm my n95 in night mode and the picture was as clear as in the 2 pic so no point of making n95′s quality giffen do one thing take tht n95 to nokia priority and ask them to check it properly..! it might can have some problem in it’s lens..!

    N82 is much much better compare to N95 or N958b when picture quality comes. Xenon flash is BIG PLUS and I dont have to use my camera anymore for any indoor/outdoor pictures. Above pictures gives true story. If you still dont believe, buy N95 and regret.

    I have a question: which has a faster shutter speed?

    I’m looking to get a new Nokia after being rather disappointed with the e61i’s dreadfully slow shutter speed and image quality after the 6280 which was acceptable.

    The choice is really between the N95, N95 8GB and the N82 (yes it will be photos of my kid and cats!) because I’ll need wifi capability too.

    No questions, get N82, better image quality compared to n95 or n95 8gb, proven in many blogs. in fact i have not read any article stating any mobile device better than n82′s imaging capabilities. i have a nokia n82, i recommend it (if a smaller screen or a monoblock vs slider design arent big deals for you)

    also, thesymbianblog considers N82 as a multitasKING, and that’s very true

    @joe: it’s one thing to have 8 MP in a digicam, and one thing to have it in a phone. the space you have in a cam is for cam parts only, which means you have LOTS of tech to put in (i’m no cam expert tho). But a Phone has to content ALL the Phone Parts .. i can’t imagine that the 8MP Pics will be much better in terms of quality. only the physical size will increase, but i don’t think the quality itself. i even doubt that the 8 MP SE will beat the N82 ..

    But what i’m lookin forward is that newly announced Samsung S60 8MP Thing, looks interesting, but lacks Xenon! :(

    Some people say Made in Finland is better, but I seriously don’t see the difference. If it’s important to you, buy from a store that will let you exchange if you are not satisfied. I know Dell lets you do this.

    I think n95 is better than n82
    why?!
    The most bothering thing I see in n82 is the BUTTONS, they really suck. They look easily broken and I really can’t handle them. Moreover n82 has a bigger size than n95 (longer). Except for the xenon flash and digital voice recording n82 resembles n95 in everything else. According to Nokia official site n95 kicks n82 in standby hours, the internal memory of n95 is 160 mb while n82 is 100 mb and don’t forget that n82 lacks IR connection. The both have the same software and apps. Simply go to Nokia site and make comparison between these two phones.

    Auto rotating is provided in the new update of nseries software, the v 30 which has been released recently. It’s a software issue not a phone issue!
    once you’ve updated your n95 software the auto rotating will work. I’ll add that info too, the youtube video palying is supported too in this update. So there’s no advantage for n82 in this side dude. Oh btw there’s an app called rotate me which provides the same function for n95 (auto rotating).

    They are all the same. They have the same apps and the same quality. The difference in this aspect is that n95 8gb has a longer screen and also 8gb storage space (like n82). I would recommend n95 8gb.
