Nokia N82 Firmware Updated to Version 11.0.117
The Nokia N82 firmware was updated today to version 11.0.117. The changelog shows nothing significant, but I was surprised that even when I backed up all my installed applications and contacts, no data was lost after the update. Previously, I had to reinstall everything. The Nokia N82 was updated on my Mac using VMware Fusion running Windows XP.

Updated Nokia N82 on Mac Leopard.
I was hoping for more features in this update. For the next Nokia N82 firmware, I would like Nokia to add the GPS location in the Exif data of the photos taken. This way, I do not need to rely on third-party applications like Shozu to geotag my pictures.

I did this over the past weekend, and it said 10.0.046 was the most recent version available. Did they pull the update?
Thanks.

Still use Shozu for tagging GPS location? How about try Nokia Location Tagger, which can tag your location data to your photos automatically.

Be carefull when upgrading Nokia N82 firmware…Nokia have secretly remove the free turn by turn navigation feature in the newer firmware! Guess Nokia saw that not many people are paying for the Voice guidance navigation and rely on the free no voice guidance nagigation. They now want you to pay for both! Didn’t think that such a reputable company would resort to such underhanded means to milk more money out of us…
