Hiking Week 2: Just A Walk Around the Lake

Last week, I told you that I’m taking a hiking class and I was really looking forward to this week’s hike to Bear Mountain which was supposed to be 5 miles and 1,000 feet vertical rise. Due to weather, the instructor told us it would not be safe and had an alternate hike, instead. Nevertheless, I had the Nokia N95 8GB running Sports Tracker to show you my walk.

You can read my guide on how to embed sports tracker data to your blog if you would like to do something like this on your blog.

As you can see, instead of climbing the mountain, we just ended up walking around the nearby lake. Check out the bigger map on Google.

The next hike is on Sunday April 27th. If you enjoyed posts like this, consider subscribing to the Nokia blog RSS feed or subscribe by email to have new posts go straight to your inbox.

  1. Did you do live tracking? The last time i tried it with Sports Tracker is killed my battery in an hour!

Its very cool though and its not difficult to imagine where a combined tracker and maps2 application will lead!

  2. I didn’t do live tracking with sports tracker. I honestly don’t think there’s enough audience interested to watch a live track.

If it was a long distance trip, then I would definitely choose to live track. …And of course bring extra chargers and batteries! lol
