SymSMB is quite old and is not designed for the latest phones.
Nowadays must have one is Telexy Network Commander or SymNC.

The other interesting software that I may suggest for your review is SymSMB 4.00 from http://www.telexy.com At this point there are a few video about SymSMB on YouTube but all of them about earliest version and nothing about latest v.4.00 that allowing wireless audio streaming from computer to phone and much more! I have around 30 programs on my phone and I would consider this is definitely the best application on my N95. The must have one.

You should check out a couple of two cool video apps for S60:

Qik (http://www.visivocommunications.com/). The website doesn’t have much info yet, but you can sign up for the beta there. It allows you to stream live video from an S60 3rd edition device to a website for viewing in real-time or anytime.

Hava player (see http://www.symbianone.com/content/view/5510/108/) – watch your TV and DVR content on your S60 3rd edition device via WiFi or 3G or HSDPA. Control your TV and DVR. Similiar to Sling but has built in WiFi and Nokia slider phone support for portrait/landscape toggling.

I like both apps, joikuspot has been pretty stable for me, but i don’t have very high prolonged usage. My my ipod touch has no problems connecting and its pretty speedy. Its not really worth it to try it on my bb curve, since the processor is on the slow side so even with the high speeds it still needs to load it up. Both are also quite easy to use. I have no idea how either one of them affects your data usage though, I’d assume you probably ARE doing something bad on your TOS but i’m pretty sure unless you are dling gigs and gigs of stuff, and your data usage is limited to web surfing, you won’t see any silly high charges on your bill (I have yet to). Both apps need to be able to support psps and DS’s, that will generate a pretty big following since you have mobile online gaming on two huge platforms. From what I gathered, this is the biggest gripe people are having. Truth be told, I’m just glad to have big screen internet while on my ipod while my phone is in my pocket.

I find walking Hotspot to be a more stable, fully featured app that just works. I’ve used this in airports and it has saved me plenty of money. It’s worked fine over an HSDPA connection for the Web, mail, and streaming.

I wish they would sell me the full version though, as I have more than one device I want to use with it. However they say that are only going to sell it through carriers. I think this is a mistake.

I also have a Nokia N95 8GB US Version, and im using it on the at&t network. I have the unlimited data plan. What is the difference between the “at&t internet” option and the “at&t media net” setting when you use a internet connection on your phone.

i prefer walkinghotspot over joikuspot, I find WHS can access more from my n800 and laptop than JS can, plus WHS can handle wpa.

They have a trial version available that is free, as far as I can see the only limitation is you can only use it with one WiFi device (the first one you connect), but compared to JoikuSpot it already supports ALL protocols, which means I can use with my iPod Touch and get full 3G access to mail, weather, Google Maps, YouTube etc.

It seems they will not be selling the unlimited version directly to customers, but until JoikuSpot supports all protocols (and not just http & https) it’s a great alternative, especially for iPod Touch owners like me.
