Nokia E71 Reviews Collection
The Nokia E71 is really popular right now, so let’s take a look at what others have been saying so far. I am listing down the recent reviews available from reputable sources and a brief summary of each one.

Nokia E71 in white or grey
Paul Miller from Engadget Mobile wrote on his Nokia E71 review that even though he is spoiled by the iPhone’s touch interface, there’s more power and customizability with the S60-powered Nokia E71. The music and video playback is challenged by the screen and interface though.
Boy Genius Report claimed on their Nokia E71 review that it is the sexiest damn phone they’ve seen in a long time and even go as far as saying it is the best phone Nokia has made to date.
Steve Litchfield from All About Symbian wrote a very detailed Nokia E71 review and even said that the E71 is the iPhone’s nemesis, “using almost the identical dimensions in a totally different way, for a totally different set of users.” While disappointed with the multimedia side of the Nokia E71, there’s a lot of other things to like about.
SMS Text News’ Nokia E71 review by Ben Smith explained fans will not be impressed with the email client and media functions such as video streaming on Qik. However, they like the design, size, battery life, and the quick GPS position locking.
My-Symbian writer Michal Jerz mentioned on his Nokia E71 review the high buld quality of the device, but not impressed with video recording. in the end, the E71’s elegant design and high quality results in a warm recommendation.
Dotsisx from Symbian-Guru was surprised with the pocketable size of the E71 on her Nokia E71 review. A disadvantages she found was the autofocus function by pressing the T key, but she felt that Nokia E61 users will move to the Nokia E71i.
Thoughts
I’ve been chatting with others about the Nokia E71 and surprised at how popular it is! I think it will sell relatively well in the US especially at the starting price point. The suggested retail price for the US dealers is $499, but expect to pay around $430-$450.

E71 WILL BREAK ALL MARKETS. ITS THE SEXIEST HANDSET FROM NOKIA WITH AN UNBELIEVEABLE PRICE AND GREAT BIZ FEATURES!!
daryll on 22 July 2008:
whats disappointing with the multimedia feature?
Mark Guim on 23 July 2008:
@daryll 15fps cpmpared to 30fps recording. 3mp compared to 5mp, purple tint on pictures. The E71 is not a multimedia phone like the the Nseries

I got it for the GPS and its not good.So lets concentrate on that. Its loaded with cardiff, london and edinbrugh, but i live in liverpool. I did a search for a road 1000 yards from me. It went on line and after three minutes it could not find it. So i gave it manchester and three mins later location not found. I went off line and redid the same thing again, it found the road 1000 yards from me but it couldnot get a signal untill five minutes had passed wiating for a GPS signal. Eventually it got the signal and then connected to the server to complete the connection i accepted the terms and conditions and five minutes later it still had not connected. I walked the 1000 yards in three minutes . 20 minutes later it still had not shown me anything other than my location.I consider it to be a gimmicky satnav and no contender for a dedicated satnav finder.I tried the test one hour later again and it continued to not be of any use. There is no support via the nokia website to download extra maps for the E71 and to make use of the buttons is both time consuming and fiddlesome.im sending mine back… again that another big problem in its self

you need to go the Nokia Maps website and get the Nokia Map downloader - a PC application which allows you to upload region / country maps in advance

I would highly recommend getting a microSD card as well to give you the extra space for the maps.
I have found maps on my N95 which is not meant to be that great at GPS compared to the E71 to be pretty good - it can even get lock when I am in the house near a window.
