Vlog: Demo of SkyeQuikey on Nokia N95 8GB

On my latest videolog, I’m giving a demo of SkyeQuiKey on the Nokia N95 8GB. It lets you have access to contacts, applications, and bookmarks by typing in the first few letters at the main screen. I found out about this application through Zach Epstein from SIM and BGR. Take a look at how fast it works.

Video formats: Web high quality, Mobile, Youtube.

As you can see from the video, contacts, applications, and bookmarks are only about 3 to 4 keypresses away from the main screen. SkyeQuiKey can be downloaded at SkyeStream.

Negative

What I don’t like about SkyeQuiKey is that it makes my Google Search application unusable. I can no longer search the web on my main screen using Google Search S60 application.

  1. Hm. Interesting.

What about actually entering a phone number to call?

  2. just dial it like u do it normally.

  3. Certainly looks a lot faster than when I first played with it, thanks, giving this application another shot!

  9. I had it in my N82 for 2 weeks. I stopped to use cause it was crashing all the time… …It´s a pity.

  10. What can I say it’s a brilllient idea for an application, but I highly recommend you don’t purchase it from them.

The program works fairly well, but the licensing restrictions on their software are utterly ridiculous. I recently had to have my phone repaired and to my surprise had a new phone sent back to me. But the software is locked to the IMEI number and they will not transfer the license key.

Top it off with the worst customer service I’ve seen in a while. I’ve emailed them and had no reply what-so-ever. And I’ve never seen the app updated with a newer version…and let me tell you it’s hardly bug free!

So I’m out $10 and have absolutely nothing to show for it. Yeah

  11. Offtopic: Sorry one question, what are the icons after the WLAN state? My N95 8GB don’t show that. Thanks ;)

  12. Hi Mark!
This may be a little off topic. I installed Google search app for S60 to my Nokia E71-2 with no problem, but everytime I launch the program the E71-2 crashed (reboots itself). Did you have success using Google search on your Nokia E71-2? Thanks,
    Kabayan

  13. SkyeQuiKey V1.03 is now available. In this new version Google Search and SkyeQuiKey may both be installed without interfering with each other!
