Whose Picture Results - Nokia E71 vs Nokia N95 8GB vs iPhone
I asked readers yesterday to guess which phone took the picture. The guesses were almost unanimous. The Nokia N95 8GB took the best picture while the iPhone suffered from focus and the Nokia E71 added a purple tint to the photo.

Most of the commenters guessed right. I’m really disappointed with the photo on the Nokia E71. I expected better. Please don’t give me that “it’s a business phone and you should be happy there’s even a camera on there” bull$h!t excuse. You had this problem a long time ago with the original Nokia N95-1 and should have fixed it by now. Hopefully Nokia removes the purple tint problem with a firmware update.
Another Nokia E71 vs Nokia N95 8GB Color Comparison
Here’s another look at the color problem on the Nokia E71 by comparing it with the Nokia N95 8GB below. It is so obvious that I don’t even need to ask anyone to guess on this one.

Notice the purple tint on the Nokia E71

Great color on the Nokia N95 8GB

Love these posts which give us a better comparison of the quality of pictures coming from mobiles today. N95 seemingly is the most consistant in terms of good results.

We did a similar test recently and found that the Nokia N82 was far better than the 5 megapixel Sony Ericsson K850i - so another win for Nokia.
One good thing these days with the resolution of camera phones getting bigger and bigger is that SDHC memory cards for the Nokia’s are as cheap as chips now - I’ve just seen a 8GB SDHC card for £21 including delivery on one of the dedicated memory sites.

@Mobile Blogger definitely good results on the N95. I think the N82 would have provided even better results because it is the flagship imaging device like @mobiles just mentioned.

Hello,
Camera quality isn´t bad, is the software, I tihnk a firmware update will fix everything.
In fact, you can make some variations with photoshop, color balance, more Green and a little more Blue you take same photo than N95.
Perhaps is a way for Nokia to no canibalize products.
