I don;t think most mobile cameras work as well as N95 8GB particularly when its cloudy and drizzling. The Farm’s Photos are amazing and why not N95 8GB has got a world-class 5 megapixel camera (2592 x 1944 pixels) with Carl Zeiss optics and autofocus with which one can capture amazing pictures.Cheers!!!

It's time to get a more powerful phone however, but im not sure any fit the bill picture wise?

I'm not even sure the N8 can make macro pics as good as the N95.

The iPhone4 certainly isn't up to it. I'm not sure about androids either.

I’ve had stability issues back when I had the Nokia N95 NAM (N95-3), but I installed a lot of stuff and a hard reset made it back to normal. I couldn’t figure out what’s wrong and assumed it was one of the apps I installed.

So far no stability issues with the Nokia N95 8GB, but I do have a problem with my navigation key that I’ll be contacting for warranty repair this week. The down key is harder to press now. There must be some dust or speck that got stuck there.

I suggest hard resetting your phones if you haven’t tried yet and let me know if you still get issues. *#7370# at the standby screen. Maybe you need to call for warranty repair.

How has your N95 been stability-wise?

We have two N95-4s, both updated to the 20.2.005 firmware. They both experience random shutdowns while idle.

This has happened both on the charger and on battery power (battery was charged). In all cases they were not in a pocket or similar, so it’s not accidental key presses either. In fact in most cases it happened overnight while they were on a nightstand.

Googling around suggests that this has been going on for a while, with the N95-3 and with the original 8GB model.

Finally, these don’t have any “strange” software installed that might cause this. They have Google Maps and Google Search, and I positively know that these were not running during many of the shutdowns.

One possibly related observation: Almost every time I handle either phone’s BL-6F battery, for example to remove the SIM, I hear the characteristik crackle of static discharge. Bad/counterfeit batteries/phones?

All in all, with 2 out of 2 having this problem, and with a seemingly known history of problems that Nokia isn’t able/willing to solve, I’m definitely unimpressed.

My E61i on the other hand has been rock solid. Perhaps N-series are simly to be avoided as just consumer-quality devices for not-too-demanding customers.

Good picture quality. If I didn’t know they were from an N95 I would have guessed they were from some average point-and-shoot camera.
