Nokia 6220 Classic Bluetooth Transfer Speed Faster Than Nokia N95 8GB

I tested the speed of the Nokia 6220 Classic transferring photos to my computer via bluetooth compared to the Nokia N95 8GB. I noticed the 6220 Classic is slightly faster than the N95 8GB. The Nokia 6220 Classic capped at 135 KB/s while the Nokia N95 8GB capped at 100 KB/s.

Transferring photos and videos between my computer and phone is important to me because I need copies stored on the computer. Using bluetooth to transfer files is much more convenient without the hassle of looking for and connecting cables.

I think the faster speed is due to the newer S60 version 3.2 running on the 6220 Classic compared to version 3.1 on the N95 8GB. If that is the case, I’m glad bluetooth transfers will be faster on the newer phones coming soon from Nokia and S60.

  1. Great find! Especially since I don’t use USB cables anymore and popping my memory card out of my N82 with my huge hands is a practice of patience and anger management.

  2. Because my K800i only reaches 55 KB/s, I thougt this would be the genreal limit for Bluetooth…

Do you know where’s the real limit in BT file transfer?

  5. You’re getting used to it… ;)

But now I’m wondering about my speed.
The K800i is just 2 years old and it has many BT features, actually I thougt this would be one fine BT device… Strange…

But where is the limit in BT file transfer? As far as I know BT 2.0 is the latest version and the K800i defenitly supports BT 2.0 (I have the latest firmware on the phone and I’m using Mac OS X 10.5 like Mark).

Can someony explain that to me? ^^

  7. Nokia should really put a “send via wlan” option into the menu. there is the home network function which lets you send some stuff to another n series device (via WLAN) but this is kind of hard to use and it doesn’t work if i want to send stuff to my laptop. So i’m stuck with that, and i use bluetooth as well. my pc unfortunately doesn’t say the recieving speed.. only the sending speed to my phone which never goes above 74kb/s for some reason..
