An interesting job opening on the Nokia Careers site reveals a plan by Nokia to open what are called, “Future Vision Showrooms.” The initial two showrooms are supposed to be located in Helsinki, Finland and Silicon Valley, USA. Sounds interesting and I hope Nokia invites me at the grand opening. Read on for details.

Nokia to open showrooms in Silicon Valley and Helsinki

Excerpt from the job listing that describes the Future Vision Showrooms:

The Future Vision Showroom will be Nokia’s “front-end” for innovation activities and a physical place to live and experience Nokia’s technology Vision.

The Future Vision Showroom will be a place where internal and external visitors come to experience how Nokia sees the future, and how we can play a key role in making this a better place for all of us. Visitors will include representatives of the press, investors, current and potential customers, as well as senior managers and key decision makers with their guests.

The Future Vision Showroom will initially be located in Finland (Helsinki) and the USA (Silicon Valley). The Future Vision Showroom will complement the existing showrooms in Nokia (like the Nokia Lounge)

I especially like the part where it says, “experience how Nokia sees the future, and how we can play a key role in making this a better place for all of us.” I’m sure I’m not alone when I say I want to see how my future Nokia gadgets will look and work. I want to see concepts and actually play with them rather than view pictures on my computer screen.
