Nokia N97 Hands-On Videos Roundup

Our prediction about an Nseries with Qwerty was pretty spot-on. Nokia announced today the Nokia N97 with stand-out features like a 3.5″ touch display, full Qwerty, GPS, 3G, built-in 32GB storage plus expandable with microSD up to 48GB, 5MP camera, and DVD quality video recording. Here’s a roundup of videos you need to see.

Note: head to the blog if any of the videos below are not visible in your RSS reader.

From Nokia Conversations, a 1 minute video of the official Nokia N97 introduction.

From Nokia Conversations, a 3 minute video showing how the N97 looks like with some footage of using the phone.

From Phonescoop, the first 2 mins show a white Nokia N97 with comments on the hinge which is, “stable and strong.”

From Engadget, a 2 min video of demo showing some usage of the Nokia N97.

From addictcell, demo of video recording on the 3.5″ widescreen display of the Nokia N97.

The videos still not enough for you? One of our sponsors, Dialaphone, have some more to say about the Nokia N97.

  • Looks very good. It's got the QWERTY keys and the touchscreen plus a 5 MP camera. Now, I'm curious about the quality of the image capture since the E71 even with a 3.2 MP camera doesn't take great pics. But it looks very nice. Now, I'm torn between the E71, BB Bold or iPhone and this. Rats.
  • @May C, since Nokia said it will be released during the first half of 2009, we might be waiting a while.
  • brian
same phone other clothes .... where is the 8 mp cam ?
  • Andy Burgin
i was hoping to see the 8 mega-pixel camera mobile from Nokia but the N97 still only a 5 one,so don"T Nokia want to compete in the camera section or not as theres sign of them doing so up till now
  • Sowmitra
I was also waiting for a 8 mp cam; if they're not moving on, nokia should make the cam wit super steady shot or something.
  • @Sowmitra, I don't care if it's not 8mp. I care if it's a good quality 5mp. The dual LEDs will be good for videos at night, but wish they put in xenon for photos.
  • cool,iphone killer!

usual stuff from Nokia, also you watch the promo video and you see a lot of smoothness and fancy transicitons effects, you look at hands-on videos and the transitions are already gone!! wtf! ...and no don't worry, what we see today will be what we'll get in the shops in June, don;t hope that NOKIA is going to change the UI, icon design, add transitions effects to it. Is a 5800 music express with different clothes and few widget for the main screen....with symbian underneath you can't really go further than this. Ah..andf also, H1 2009??..this phone would be late to the market even if it was released today!
  • @Frank, Nokia should release phones soon after announcements. I hate waiting.
  • the n97 seems to be a good one.
  • Ashu
Now, this is what I have been waiting for. A QWERTY qith touchscreen. Yes, will have to compromise on my N82's xenon but that can be compensated with videos in night.:)
  • Saskia
I love Nokia! I want this one!
  • AYA89
So when exactly is the first half of 2009 ?

    Jan-March ?
  • Ashu
I read somewhere, its not on before june
  • Please, a capacitive touch screen, not a resistive one ..! =0
  • excellent post, looking forward to the nokia n97 getting released.
  • I think the Nokia N97 will be the best mobile phone that will hit the market in 2009, i personally believe that Nokia N97 phone could really make a statement and go up against the likes of the Apple iPhone and of course BlackBerry Storm and even the T-Mobile G1.
  • perfect blog. still afraid bout n95.
  • WIlly
