Your Nokia Usage Poll

I was asked to answer a few questions about Nokia by the guys over at WOM World. I’m sharing my answers here because it got me curious to what others will answer. Take a look at my response and let me know your answers.

Questions

1. How many devices have you used over the past 6 months (please list them below)?

  • Owned: Nokia N95 8GB, Nokia E71, Nokia N85
  • Trialed: Nokia N96, Nokia 6220 Navigator

2. Has your trial experience ever led to you purchasing a Nokia device? I was not sent the Nokia N95 8GB, E71 or the N85 to trial beforehand. I bought them when they first came out and absolutely love them. On the other hand, my usage and trial experiences which I share on thenokiablog.com lead to visitors and friends purchasing Nokia devices.

3. Has your trial experience ever led to you recommend Nokia to friend? The Nokia N96 experience led me NOT to recommend the device to friends and thenokiablog.com visitors. During my trial, it had faulty firmware, slow response and was too annoying to use to bother testing further.

4. Which features of your Nokia device do you use most often (ie camera, GPS, gaming etc)? Please list below and feel free to list more than one… Web browsing, camera, GPS navigation

5. How often do you use the following Nokia services? [daily] [weekly] [monthly] [hardly ever] [not at all]

  • N-Gage – weekly
  • Nokia Maps – daily
  • Share on Ovi – Not at all. I prefer to use Flickr.
  • Nokia Music Store. Not at all because it isn’t available in USA.
  • Widsets – Not at all. Useless.
  • Nokia Email Service – Not at all. I’ve been using Profimail instead.
  • Mosh – Monthly. Good place to download free games.

7. How many mobile apps (games, widgets, downloads etc) have you installed and used over the last 2 months? [between 1 and 5] [between 6 and 10] [between 10 and 20] [more than 20] More than 20

8. How do you define “convergence”? Using one device instead of carrying a camera, iPod, cellphone, and gps navigator.

    3. I dint use trials but i always recommend nokia phones always.

    camera = weekly

    music = daily

    calendar, clock, calculator = i used them twice to 5 times weekly

    ngage = daily

    web browsing = 2-5times weekly

    video player = 2-5times weekly

    7. MORE than 20 I love this SYMBIAN for this reason

    8.ALL in one for the pocket. it is like a mobile pc that is intended for pocket only.

    2. Has your trial experience ever led to you purchasing a Nokia device? No, Because i'm not a cellphone tester, but I'm gonna buy a Nokia N85

    3. Has your trial experience ever led to you recommend Nokia to friend? No, but i recommended a friend a Nokia N73 and a N85.

    4. Which features of your Nokia device do you use most often (ie camera, GPS, gaming etc)? Please list below and feel free to list more than one… Before I got my iPod Tocuch: Music Player + Bluetooth, SMS, Camera

    * Music Player - not at all anymore
    * SMS - daily
    * Camera - weekly

    8. How do you define “convergence”? Having 1 device that you almost always have with you and can do everything you need. Like calling or texting but off course playing a game when it's boring, or when you need to take a pic or need some navigation to somewhere.

    Now you all think I never use my cell for something, but that isn't true, looking forward to my N85 ;) :P

    Surfing around, I stumbled upon your blog and its really great: Readable, informative and easy to navigate for whatever you like to know about Nokia.
    I've used Nokia for the last 10 years (at least) and its very useful (with a great camera) also since I'm blogging about my daily life in Norway. You may see some example posts here.
    The second last I had, was a 6680 and now I have a N82. I guess next time it will be a N97.

    2. Never had trial devices.

    3. Never had trial devices but I have recommended both the N82 and N85 to friends. In fact I try to do all I can to dissuade them from getting an iPhone.

    4. When I had my N82, I used imaging a lot. I use GPS, Web, and music for my N85 most. I don't use the camera as often with N85 because coming from an N82, the camera on the N85 is quite disappointing.

    2. I was really in doubt which cellphone I would purchase, N95 or N82, and the trial time did really help me choose (N82).

    3. Not at all, I had a really good time testing all devices.

    @Mark Guim, It's cool and helps me in paying my housing bills even if I am not in city!! I am sure there would be service providers like these in US also...

    3. No trials, but I have recommended buying E71 and N82.
