Review: Nokia N85 ProClip Phone Holder Is Finally Here

When it comes to car mounts and phone holders, noone can beat the ProClip. Just ask anyone with it and they’ll tell you. Ever since I got my Nokia N85, I’ve been waiting for them to release the holder for my phone. I already had the mount for my car and just needed the holder for the N85. They finally released it last week. The solution is specific to your car and phone, ensuring a secure perfect fit.

Nokia n85 proClip

I’ve used the ProClip on all my previous phones: Nokia N95 8GB, Nokia N82, and Nokia E71. ProClip also sells an attachment called the Move Clip which is useful if you have multiple phones. This lets you easily change between the phone holders by just sliding it into the mount. Without this clip, you have to screw the holder onto the mount. Take a look at the video on how to change between the holders using the move clip. I really think this clip should already be integrated with the holder instead of another accessory to purchase.

Take a look at the slideshow below of the holder on my car dashboard. Head to the blog if it’s not visible in your RSS reader.

Like all the other holders I received from ProClip, the one for the Nokia N85 fits perfectly. I chose the one with the tilting head so I have options to change the viewing angle. You can chose other holders. Pay less without the tilting head or pay more for the one with an embedded charging cable.

Nokia n85 Proclip 1

Pros: Excellent quality and fit. No worries of the phone falling off. Thieves won’t notice you have a GPS navigation because they don’t see anything suctioned to the windshield.

Cons: A little pricey compared to the cheap suction phone holders. My configuration (mount + holder + move clip) costs about $75. I also think the Move Clip should be included with the kit instead of extra accessory to pay for.

  • They are a little expensive but worth every cent. I have used them on both my vehicles and you can't beat the fit. I managed to find free shipping on my second mount at www.Encoura.com/10018.html

it may be expensive but i've wasted more money trying to find the "right" solution. My E71 now sits perfectly in my Honda Civic. Absolutely love the ProClip.
  • great phone holder deign!

$75!!!...thats a lot of money for a car mount. But I guess it would be reliable and durable. What I would really like to see is Nokia providing good quality car mounts with their phones...probably is wishful thinking.
  • Its an amazing piece of equipment, i have had mine for 2 weeks and its been great. Posted a review also.
