New York Flagship Store Takes Nokia 5800 NAM Off Shelves Amidst Reported Issues

post thumbnail

I went to the New York flagship store this afternoon to look for the Nokia 5800 NAM. Unfortunately, I was told it was no longer available for purchase because of reported issues. I’m guessing it’s about the complaints of not getting 3G signal. A sales associate told me Nokia is trying to figure out what’s wrong. In the meantime, you can leave your number with the store, and they’ll call when it is back on the sales floor.

Nokia USA Lowers Price of Nokia 5800 To $359 On Official Release

post thumbnail

The sales people behind Nokia 5800 NAM are really confusing. They give a $399 suggested retail for the NAM version when the Euro version were being sold for $350, but they gave pre-order coupons lowering it to $359. Then the US flagships had them in stock for $399, but inventory system issues prevented them from selling to eager fans. Today, they published a press release of its availability and guess what… the online price is back down to $359.

Video: Big Things To Come From Carl Zeiss and Nokia

post thumbnail

Sony Ericsson announced a 12mp camera phone and Samsung blasted the doors open with an HD capable phone expected later this year. Nokia’s response at MWC was an 8MP cameraphone called the Nokia N86 which they claim to be the most advanced imaging device. If you feel that is inadequate, don’t worry. A video interview with Sales and Marketing Director at Carl Zeiss says there will be interesting things to come.

Nokia 5800 NAM Arriving at the US Flagships Feb. 25th

post thumbnail

I just got word from a reliable informant that the Nokia 5800 NAM is arriving at the US flagships tomorrow afternoon and that “they will probably start selling them around 3PM.” We were first to break that the price will be $399 USD. I don’t think there will be lines because I haven’t heard of any official announcements. This information is as accurate as a delivery tracking information… don’t believe until it shows up on your door.

post thumbnail

You don’t need me to remind you because you already RSVP’ed right? Well, if you haven’t, I won’t hold it against you (for very long at least). This meetup is shaping up to be a good one. The E75 and the N97 should both be making an appearance. So get out from behind your computer, log out of Howard Forums, and meet us over at the Nokia New York Flagship store at 6:30PM on Wednesday, Feb. 25th.

Nokia N85 Slides Open For Playboy’s March 2009 Issue

post thumbnail

I visited my parent’s home today and noticed the Playboy March 09 issue on my dad’s desk. I heard they write good articles, so I decided to skim through. Lo and behold, I see the Nokia N85 on a segment about devices we use for computing anytime, anywhere. I took a snap with my own Nokia N85 so you can see the spread.

Nokia Messaging Updated – Yawn… Still No HTML Support

post thumbnail

Nokia let us know a few days ago that Nokia Messaging was updated with a patch. What I only cared about was whether it finally supported HTML email. Unfortunately, it still doesn’t. I’ll be sticking to Profimail on my phone for my email solutions until they support it.

Nokia N97 Widget Competition Almost Over – Last Chance To Win N97

post thumbnail

I submitted my Nokia N97 widget design a while back, so I shouldn’t be telling more people to enter the contest and lower my chances of winning. However, this is a friendly reminder that the N97 widget competition is ending as soon as February 27th. This is our chance to get the Nokia N97 before anyone else!

How Nokia Users Follow Twitter on Their Phones

post thumbnail

I’ve previously written a guide on best ways to follow Twitter from your phone, but I was curious if my suggestions were actually being used. I asked my Twitter followers this past weekend how they use the service on their phones. Take a look at the responses I received.
