Nokia 5800 NAM With Updated Firmware Fixes 3G Issues

It looks like Nokia doesn’t want North Americans to ditch the 5800 and wait it out for the Nokia N97. I just got semi-good news from someone on the inside that the Nokia 5800 NAM issue will soon be fixed. My source says Nokia 5800 NAM’s with updated firmware found no problems connecting to 3G.

The Nokia 5800 NAM’s initially came with a v11 firmware. If it was indeed a firmware problem instead of the hardware, then we should expect to see the phones back on the shelves at the US flagships sooner than later. If this is true, those who have the phones already can simply upgrade when the new firmware becomes public. I’ll post some photos of the updated Nokia 5800 NAM soon. Stay tuned!
