Hey all :)

Just an idea for a phone concept witch in all fairness, I think it would prove to be viable and practical not to mention a good seller......

A phone with compact scales digitally displayed say from Gram too 2 Oz !
I choose to blog this idea on a Nokia site, for Nokia has a tendency too listen to the consumer needs.

"Why with scales"? well I happen to know a few gold dealers and a couple of hemp dealers , who just hate having there collars felt for carrying scales as you can see there clearly is a market... ;)

I'd like to see the N93 revamped with a big but thin design and improved camera function. If it had a 4 or 4.5 inch screen, it would make it the ideal size for viewing video and web content as well as a great monitor for filming.

I think at the least the camera should be improved to the specs of the Samsung Omnia HD (8MP, 720P video recording).

The thinking used to be that there was a music phone in the N Series (91) video (93) etc. I'd like a device that is completely dedicated and designed to being a video camera with phone capabilities.

I don't think it would be too clunky. I would like to see an interface for running travel-drive ready PC apps, voice recorder, standard speech to text app, saved to .txt file with export feature.

The n79 with better camera optics and metal body, a slighty bigger screen! Amoled ofcourse! Music comtrols along one side, thinner, and 16gb built in memory!
That sounds doable and I hope something close to that comes out sooner or later!

As an owner of the E70 and 3220 ( which is still my active backup ). I would love to see a refreshed E70, I loved that phone and still do, the only reason i don't use it anymore is because nokia abandoned it both with firmware and software the constant out of memory errors moved me up to a N82 but i miss the E70 every time i'm going to type an email or something. the stupid slider keyboards and such just aren't as nice as the one on the e70.

I've got a Nokia N93 and while optical zoom is cool, the mechanical noise impinges on videos. Moreover, the smaller image sensor means the low-light capabilities are pretty crappy. I'm happy with my N93, but those are some pretty serious limitations. My ideal cameraphone is one with a smaller MP count, but a larger image sensor. If they could get the sensor from a full point-and-shoot camera wedged in there, that would be truly drool worthy.

And if we're talking about fantasies, how about wired/bluetooth accessories. Like a mic that can be used to record from another point. How about a tripod mount? Or a detachable screen that can be held away from the actual recording part of the phone. Hell, maybe even attachable zoom lenses.

Ooh ooh, and touch screen camera controls, to manage focal points and white balance.

I definitely do _NOT_ want to see an 8 MP Nokia N97: 8 megapixels just mean larger file sizes and worse image quality than using a good 5 MP sensor, see http://www.6mpixel.org/. (And this is for compact cameras, sensors in these phones are even smaller...) Better video capture yes, maybe a better lens or more features for the camera, but 8 MP: No, thanks.

My grey steel E66 with a better camera and better battery. I wouldn't use a qwerty that often ( my laptop is a much better choice for typing) and I am not really fond of a touchscreen. I think the E66 is the classiest of them all!
Karl
