How To: Simple Convert and Transfer Videos From Mac To Nokia Phones
I’ll show you how I’ve been converting videos from my Mac, transfer, and watch on my phone without having to learn anything about codecs, bitrates, resolutions, and other tech terms we really shouldn’t care about. This is all possible thanks to Nokia Multimedia Transfer for Mac.
Using Nokia Multimedia Transfer software is pretty straightforward. For video transfers, you’ll also need to use iTunes as a milddleman to hold your unconverted movies or videos.
Setup
Download. Head to nokia.com/mac to download Multimedia Transfer. Install it, then add your Nokia device.
Prepare iTunes. Create a new playlist on iTunes to help you better organize the movies or videos you want to transfer over to the phone. Drag all the videos you want on your phone to this playlist.
Multimedia Transfer Settings
Under Device settings on Multimedia Transfer, enable iTunes Transfer for selected folders & playlist and check the created playlist from the previous step.

On the video tab, select Transcode videos not natively supported by device.

That’s it! Now all you need to do is start the transfer, or even turn on the option that automatically transfers the videos when you plug in your phone to your Mac.
If you have new videos to add later on, just drag them to the playlist on iTunes, then click transfer on Multimedia Transfer after connecting your phone.
As an example, I had a 350MB HD video that was converted into a 27MB file playable on the Nokia 5800. I did not have to find out about conversion settings or codecs, etc. Very simple!

Hi,
this is fine if you stay with Nokia (which might be likely for the readers of this blog
– but I like and prefer the rather “universal” approach of “DoubleTwist”.
Check it out @ http://www.doubletwist.com

I think the multimedia transfer takes too long to convert videos. I bought this software called xilisoft video converter. It is much faster to convert and is pretty user-friendly. It has a list of difference devices (ranging from ipod classic, iphone to zune, and you can customize your own device as well) and it will automatically convert to the proper video format when you select the device you intend to watch the video with.

Wasn't slow at all for me. Like I said, it is very simple… no need to choose what device to convert to since it recognizes the phone already.

Nice great post, this topic is actually one those that people sometimes don't talk about but more often than not, you'll end up needing the aforementioned techniques.
