Nokia E71x Now Out For $0.01 With Service Plan

Nokia just announced on Monday that the Nokia E71x is finally available in AT&T stores. I don’t recommend heading to the store and getting it for $99 after mail-in-rebate, because it is on Amazon for only a penny! That’s right… only $0.01 out of pocket if you extend your contract for 2 years.
The difference between the Nokia E71x and the previous Nokia E71 which I previously reviewed:
- Nokia E71x will include customizations and probably restrictions from AT&T vs an unlocked Nokia E71. (more on this later)
- Nokia E71x runs on S60 3rd Ed. FP2 vs. S60 3rd Ed. FP1 on E71.
- You are required to pay $30/month for data plan on E71x vs. $15/month on an unlocked Nokia E71.
Do you think it’s better to just buy the unlocked Nokia E71 vs Nokia E71x? I would consider the E71x if they improved the camera quality from the E71.
