after editing pictures using the image editor in the phone, i can't delete the edited pictures, whenever i try to delete it, it says "General: Already in use." I tried restarting my phone and closing the applications tonnes of times but the problem still exists... any idea?

sure, even worse! after i upgrade into v2.1 , my n97 failed to boot, when i turn it on and the nokia logo appears, my phone won't start, i tried to take the battery off and do the same thing for hundred times ! and it's not getting better, so i brought it to the nokia care center, and my phone were stucked there for 3 weeks! damn it... avoid v2, better still use v1.1

I have the same problem as well.....when i try to zoom a pic the gallery disappears and zoomed pic isnt in good qulality.
and the lock button the side of the phone is sometimes very annoying hav to lock and unlock 2-3 times till its unlock!

We need 3rd party softwares to fix there issues.Develepors wake up.Make S60v5 similar to S60v3.

1. i get this error sometimes with other apps, but have not noticed with the gallery ( i dont run gallery often, usually use the photo browser app from beta labs - much nicer).

2. pretty much sounds like #2 and #4 are the same problem - data corruption during upload. it's possible it's your n97, data connection, backend service (pixelpipe), or something i'm not thinking of. try to narrow it down: nix pixel pipe and see if it can be reproduced. see if the issue only happens with 3G/EDGE data connectivity - if so which access point are you using? many operators offer 2 or more: some with proxy and compressions, some without. i've personally found that i get a lot of failures through at&t's MediaNET access point, but none through their Internet access point (they are, in fact, the same access point, but configured with and without proxy respectively).

3. sounds like the phone is having issues running your gallery app - maybe the images themselves are corrupt? that might account for failed uploads in #2, strange gallery behavior in #1, and images failing to render properly in this #3 point.

4. sounds so similar to #2 that i'd rephrase your post title as, "3 Bugs... Headache"

Pixelpipe figured out what was wrong and deployed a fix. Video uploads are now working for me. Yup... this should be called 3 bugs instead of 4.

On the low res gallery thing:

- you have to wait for the image to load first.

I know it usually takes a couple of seconds but sometimes it won't render. Take a look at the video as the photo did not render the zoom at all. It is definitely a bug.

Whoa.. thanks for sharing! I reported the bug two weeks ago on their getsatisfaction page but never got a reply there.

I complained on Twitter and got an email right away that they were going to fix it. The next day the bug is fixed. I'm pretty happy with that!

I checked to see if i was having any of the problems u have but my gallery app is working fine... it doesnt disappear to the background & if i zoom on any pics, it renders just fine....

maybe u just gotta hard reset the phone & update it once again...

i havent tested the online sharing so dunno abt tht...

Hi Im just about to get one N97 but I just can't decide yet is it worth it??? I have an N82 and love the camera, but Im on an iphone 3gs dilemma too so I would like your opinion or should I wait for something?? thanks in advance

im still having issues with the messaging app... doesnt load properly most of the time & the default location keeps changing back to phone memory.... i read somewhere that it was due to the file manager app but when i checked both worked fine so not sure what is causing the issue...

That's the quick upload method. To enter a title, click the envelope icon, upload, then the service.

I've experienced those bugs, i've also experienced the following:

1-When I go into the messaging app, about 10% of the time it won't load well, it will be in the front but you can still see what's behind. You can actually access things in the app if you know where they are. As soon as you go into the inbox, or another folder, it gets fixed.

2-If you connect the N97 to a PC, when you unplug it, the pictures in the favorite contacts widget won't appear, anc music won't refresh in the music widget. A phone restart will fix both things.

3-When i go out of my house, the phone won't change seamlessly from wifi to 3G, I start getting lots of "WLAN coonection lost" messages. After testing, I think the main culprit is the facebook app/widget. When I took it out of my standby screen, the problem went away.

About NSS, it's a very effective method of changing the product code of a Nokia handset to another that gets updated more often. I used to apply the EURO1 codes to all my handsets, but when I did that to my N97, a firmware was downloaded that only included english as a language, and the symbols in my keys didn't correspond to what you typed.

I managed to fix the problem reverting to another code. So be careful when changing product codes on the N97!

I had this same very issue, took me quite a while to figure it out...

Some apps dont have editable connection settings (such as Facebook and the weather app), although they connect to the net...that is pain that can cause issues...

Those apps, use the Home Page 'default' connection that you set to 'connect automatically'...
This setting cannot be found anywhere in the Connectivity settings.
It is only offered to edit, when no AP has been set, and pops up on the Home Screen after booting the device...

When you first got the device, you have likely connected to your home network, that popup has showen, and naturally you choose your home wifi to 'connect automatically'

So.....

To be able to edit it again, do the following:
- Delete you home wifi AP (you can always re-ad it later)
- Reboot
- Give the device time to load and search for connecion....
- The message will popup 'you need connectivity, set **** to connect to the internet automatically'
- Select you phone network to 'connect automatically'
- Done.

What this does...is say to the device, connect to your mobile network...but your priority list in Desinations will have preference (to a limited extent), and it will connect wifi if possible first...otherwise, when you go out of range of your home wifi, it will then 'automatically connect' to you mobile network provider for internet data.

That worked for me...but it still does not work flawlessly...

If booted when at home, it will connect automatically to your home WLAN first (providing you have hat set #1 priority), and then when you go out of range of your home WLAN, it will then connect automatically to your mobile carrier....

But...it will not reconnect automatically to your home WLAN when you come back home within range...that will still require a manual connection (and disconnection from your mobile carrier)

Dumb, I know.

This is why, currently if you want the device to seemlessly connect between WLAN - 3G - WLAN - 3G - WLAN etc etc...you need a 3rd party app such as Psiloc Connect.

really want to know how you change product code with nss. i'd tried and it does work in nss but as i understood the process, you need to upgrade the firmware. now, thats when i got stuck. there is no upgrade available. i tried thru with nokia software updater and pc suite, both with the same result. no upgrade available.

any help here will be greatly appreciated!

i just got my n97 two days ago and haven't even gotten to play around with the camera yet...still trying to get adjusted to the blasted problems with the actual software.
i made sure the update (via the ovi suite on my laptop) was the first thing i did when i realized how frustrating the OS on n97 really is.
im happy to say it works much much better and is stable but there is still no saying that i am fond of it. it will still stop responding randomly or when i try to cancel a process and the only way to go around it is by...yes...u guessed it...removing the battery. i have to say nokia really needs to get their heads around these matters as im really on my last straw with them and loyalty is probably the only thing keeping me from switching to the iphone.
my main problem however, is with the ovi website...it never completes a download...any suggestions?

I have all these bugs, though less now that I've done several hard resets nd moved all the apps and widgets to the mass memory. Running much smoother though the low res gallery really sucks

I've installed all my apps on mass memory from the beginning though.

For those of you trying to update...try this method:

Use the Nokia Software Updater (NSU), its a PC application included with the Ovi Suite which you should have recieved with the N97.
That will update you.

I tried for ages the other two methods, with no success:

i did try using the software updater but i downloaded that from nokia usa website. it just keep showing that no update is available.

anyone here figure out how to debrand the 97? i need to get a different language pack for my 97, i tired the nss way but couldn't get it to flash. any help would be grateful, tia.
