4 Bugs on Nokia N97 That Give Me a Headache
The first firmware update arrived for the Nokia N97 on July 1st, but there are still major bugs related to the camera that are very frustrating. I hope Nokia repairs these bugs soon because it is ruining my usage experience. I’ve reported these back to Nokia and am awaiting for their response.
1. Gallery Disappearing Act – the Gallery sometimes disappears into the background when I try to zoom in a photo. It’s still running in the background, but I have to reopen the gallery to view the photo again. Take a look at the video demo below.
2. The curse of the Grey Bars. Photos uploaded via Share Online sometimes show up incomplete, with the remainder of the image being grey. There’s no error messages so I have to manually check the destination if it went through fine.
3. Low Res Gallery. I’m at awe why this bug is still not fixed on the v11 firmware. Zooming in the photos sometimes just enlarges a lower resolution image instead of rendering the section of the image that was zoomed on.
4. Failed Uploads. Update: Pixelpipe figured out the issue and deployed a fix immediately after this post was published. Video uploads have now been working fine.
Videos uploaded via Share Online sometimes fail and there are no notifications to let me know. I upload the videos via Pixelpipe to send the video to Flickr and Facebook or other social media site, but some of the videos won’t play on the sites. I’m not sure whether the blame goes to the Nokia N97 or Pixelpipe.
Are you experiencing any of this on your Nokia N97?
