How To Remove Boingo Access Point From Nokia N97

Boingo released a patch that will let users remove their access point from the Destinations folder. You may already know that Boingo lets you access wifi hotspots around the world at an affordable price. One problem with the application is that it adds access points in the Destination folder that can’t be removed if you no longer want to use the service. Here’s how to fix it.

Boingo Remover

The Nokia N97 comes pre-loaded with three months of free Boingo Wi-Fi. If you were curious what the app does and decided to open it, Boingo automatically adds an Access Point to your destinations. If you choose not to activate the service, the app or access point shouldn’t affect your other connections. However, there are people (like me) who rather not have it there if I don’t use it.

  • From the main menu on your device, select Settings>Connectivity>Destinations>Internet and confirm that Boingo is listed as an access point.
  • Download the Boingo patch software to your device.
  • As soon as the installation is complete, the patch software automatically launches and removes the Boingo IAP.
  • You will see a confirmation message that the Boingo IAP is being removed.
  • To check that the Boingo IAP has been removed, navigate again to the Destinations menu.

I tried this out myself and can confirm that it works.

  1. Yes, but the useless Boingo application still consumes valuable disk space on the 128mb c: drive.

  2. Ok, wonderful thank you. Now how do I remove your software that 1.) I don't need and 2.) is hijacking disk space on the c: drive of my N97. No seriously, if I don't want certain apps on MY device, I should be able to get rid of it. If you come out with a patch to do that I guarantee that you will make alot of people happy if they are givin a CHOICE to have your software or not.

  3. It works!

  4. The accesspoint is gone, bnut the app is steill there. I'm not using it and don't like the icon in my apps folder. How to uninntall the app?

  5. thankyou so much quick and easy fix if i were that way inclined i would f”**k you right now

  6. also works with 5530 Xpress Music.

  7. Thank God for the remover. If you decide not to register after you have fired uit up then you are stuck as all your applications insist in accessing the WiFi through this software even if you put it last in priority and of course you cannot un-install it or remove the WiFi entry point! What an unpleasant application!
I downloaded th euninstaller on the lap-top transfered to phone with Blue tooth and opened to remove the app entry.
