All About Symbian reports that the next firmware on the Nokia N86 will include camera face detection for autofocus and an improvement in overall photo quality. The system will be similar to other cameras where faces will be tracked anywhere in the frame and followed by the camera for proper focus and exposure.

According to AAS, the regular focus system takes over when faces are not detected. Face detection is really handy when taking portraits and there are other objects closer to the camera.

Other improvements expected in the new Nokia N86 firmware include better colors, compression, and decreased image size. Availability was not mentioned, so we just have to wait!
