Nokia N900 Review

post thumbnail

The Nokia N900 was just announced that it started shipping on Tuesday. I’ve been using a pre-production version for a month now and just updated to the production firmware (1.2009.42-11). I’ll edit this review when I get my hands on a production hardware model and notice any difference. Want to know what I think in one sentence? I like the Nokia N900, but Nokia still has a lot of work to do.

Firefox for Maemo Beta 5 Released But Slower and Less Accurate than Default Browser

Firefox for Maemo beta 5 became available for download tonight, so get your Nokia N900 and install it now! Oh wait… the device is not available to the public yet. I wouldn’t get mad though. I found beta 5 to be slower than the default browser and less accurate at displaying some sites. For example, The Nokia Blog looks ugly on it.

During a routine quality test, Nokia discovered a potential issue with certain chargers from one of their suppliers. Tmobile USA Speed Tests on Nokia N900 24 hrs After the Outage – Faster?

post thumbnail

After unlocking my iPhone and testing if a T-mobile USA SIM card worked on it, a nationwide outage occurred. For a moment, I thought it was my fault. Well, it’s back in service and T-mobile confirmed it was a backend system software error. I ran some speed tests on the Nokia N900 today to see any changes.

App Review: Opera Mobile 10 beta on Nokia N97

post thumbnail

Opera Mobile 10 beta just came out for Symbian S60 3rd and 5th edition devices. I installed it on the Nokia N97 right away and shot it on video to show you how it looks. It’s a nice alternate browser, but prepare for occasional headaches because it’s still in beta.

post thumbnail

You probably already know that Qik lets you stream video live from your phone. In case you need a reminder, I met the cofounder, Bhaskar Roy, at the Nokia N900 NYC meetup and asked him to give The Nokia Blog viewers a demo. Take a look.
