Nokia E72 Now Available in the US

The update to the successful E71 finally lands in US soil in the form of Nokia E72. With 5mp camera, optical navi key, desktop-like email and chat experiences fitted in a sleek QWERTY handset, I expect the Nokia E72 to sell pretty well. Suggested price is $469, but it’s usually found cheaper on Amazon.

The Nokia E72 comes with Nokia Messaging, and also set up instant messaging (IM) directly from the homescreen, accessing communities such as Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk and Ovi Chat. It can also accommodate multiple work and personal email accounts and, with separate profiles for work and play, allows people to be flexible when it comes to choosing how, when, where and who to respond to.

I loved the Nokia E71 when it came out, but I hated its camera. The Nokia E72 promises to improve on that shortcoming. Are you interested in this device?

  • A coworker tried this phone, he was very disappointed. Way too many quality problems, it was surprising for a company like Nokia. Not recommended.
  • I regret having bought. My sincere adviser to all is not to buy it. I bought this Nokia E72 on Sunday and during the last 7 days found about 30 problems with it. Sadly

Nokia E72 has excellent email ,instant messaging facilities which are essential qualifications for a businessman class phone. • I will say that it's probably nice seeing, if you are a fan of the OS, S60 3rd flying on that 600MHz ARM 11 they used in the E72.

I have the E71 (on AT&T) since about a year. A decent device when it came out, but the E72 is to small of an improvement to get me spend any money on it.

What irks me most is that there are no OS updates for the E71, unlike iPhone, Android, etc. You get what you get and it stays like that except for few bug fixes in firmware.
  • I'm sure prices will eventually drop. Isn't the Nokia E71 around $270 right now?
