How To View Ovi Store Content For Nokia N900 From Your Desktop Computer

The Ovi Store for Nokia N900 is still not open to the public, but there’s a URL trick to let you see what’s inside using your desktop browser. As expected, there aren’t many apps available and you will not be able to download anything yet.

Ovi Store

Thanks to Bruce from the Maemo forums for the tip:

When logged into the Ovi Store click this link.

It will set your device to N900. We cant download the apps yet but we can view them.

I hope to see more apps, games, and themes when the Ovi Store opens for the Nokia N900. I’m not sure when that will be, but one developer said they thought it was supposed to happen weeks ago.

  • Was never able to get this page in my attempts. Got the page that the site isn't ready for the n900, which is a HUGE problem for me. The n900 ovi store should have been ready at launch. This is supposed to be Nokia's flagship phone isn't it? I got the n900 because I was tired of my underpowered G1, but if there isn't anything like Shop Savvy or Shazam, not to mention any number of useful apps, what's the point of all this power? Right now, the only thing the phone has going for itself is its speed and browser.
  • link worked like a charm!

can actually forward the sms to your phone. only a coupl have actual data sizes attached. maybe there are 1 or more that actually do work.

    will report back.
  • It's possible to change User Agent on MicroB as well....as always...do at your own risk...the app is in the Extras repository and is called User Agent. You can set anything you want. I tried it with Chrome User Agent but it still did not work.

My guess is that the Ovi store checks the user agent, and locks out MicroB. Has anyone tried from an N900 using Fennec? Is it possible to change MicroB's user agent?
