Nokia N900 Firmware Update 1.2009.44-1 Released

Nokia N900 users were notified by their devices this morning that a firmware update was available on Application Manager. Firmware version 1.2009.44.1 is now currently the most recent public firmware, but word is that this is only a minor one in preparation for a major update coming soon.

The official Nokia Conversations added, “This software update prepares the Nokia N900 for opening the Ovi Store – watch out for a separate announcement for the store opening shortly.”

Application manager’s new look

There’s really only a couple of visible changes I’ve seen so far with the latest Nokia N900 firmware update. There are now big icons in the Application manager and a new repository called Ovi was added in the catalogs. Let us know if you find anything else.

Did you intentionally leave out the .002 at the end of the version number?
I just upgraded and got 1.2009.44-1.002
  • A while ago, there was this link on talk.maemo.org about the new functions of the application manager: http://blogs.igalia.com/vjaquez/2009/12/14/shin...
But I don't think that all of them are already in this new version - still missing the live search...
