Other thing i noticed after the update is battery drain so fast!!!

what the h*** is wrong with MAEMO OS, after updating for the second time, everything was fine, now my APPS MANAGER is not doing its thing, it says some catalog is failed to refreshed! i tried turning off and removed the battery couple times but it still doing desame thing! WTH!!!

Reset your device by going to settings and tapping the top of the screen where the word settings is displayed. This worked wonders for me

It's great that Nokia actually improved N900 firmware and fixed tons of bugs reported by user. The best news is the hidden portrait mode browser. However, i'm curious whether Nokia implement full portrait mode in N900. Too bad I'm a Malaysian who still waiting N900 too come.

can anyone help me on my n900?... after updating all my contacts are all gone and the device won't even let me enter new contacts, everytime if i try adding contacts, it always give me an internal error, i tried using HERMES APP to get all my facebook contacts but still giving me an internal error! PLEASE HELP!!!...

already fixed all the problems i had with my update via air, i had to re install the update via pc and now everything is fixed! it runs smoother than before!... can't wait for more APPS from OVI...

i did not have any problem updating via air but after downloading,installing and updating first i noticed, my FB app was not working properly, second, my contacts are all gone and now i can't even open my contacts anymore! so my advice to all n900 owners, DO NOT UPDATE!!!

Completed the 51 update and waiting for Exchange 2003 to fully sync. Thanks Maemo team. OTA OS upgrade is wonderful!

I just tried installing the new version using Nokia Software Updater 2.2009.51-1 which I downloaded from the Nokia website.

started all right, but when I was 1 second for the installation, I got an error in Nokia Software Updater and hill, I even went out the message that I had to reboot the pc.

to do so and try again, I can not. now I do not detect the phone.
not turn on. when I give the Power button I get the nokia logo and then shut off.

I try again to update with Nokia Software Updater and I get a sign saying that the phone connects directly to the pc, which, had it directly connected to pc. says mediente not connect a USB hub, so I do not have it.

the case is that the phone has been screwed. It will not start.

I guess you uninstalled the operating system and going to install the new version is when the error has the Nokia Software Updater

while downloding the update, there is a note at the bottom that it says DO NOT DISCONNECT the phone while updating, did you disconnect the USB from the phone while updating? I had this problem from my old NOKIA phone, so i had to send my phone to nokia center to get it fix. so i suggest to do desame thing!...

SUccessfully upgraded although it took ages to clean up the apps to make space for it. So far, FASTER, but other than that, no visible change.

can you please explain what you mean by cleaning up apps to make space?? I tried downloading the new Maemo 5 version but I get an error message saying memory full !!!! Which apps did you have to clean up ?

When I try the OTA upgrade, it asks me to use PC suite... (o_O)
And I am connected through the WiFi.
I cannot upgrade, for now :/

UPDATE FAILED!!!
..and My new N900 is bricked.
Happened first time after a lot upgrades on Nokias.
What to do now?

You need to contact Nokia for repair, this happened to me on my 5800 too. I suggest you use a different PC next time you attempt an upgrade.

Me and my friends are unable to update to above mentioned firmware because our N900 and PC Suite isn't showing any alert for update!

if you're using windows 7 it won't work, i tried that bunch of times but somehow software updater don't work on windows 7, i tried using my laptop which is windows vista and did not have any problem.

happend to me too just reset ur fone couple of times and see in updates
