Nokia C6 Clears the FCC as RM-612

Recent FCC documents show a Nokia device dubbed RM-612 that features WiFi 802.11 b/g, bluetooth, quadband GSM connectivity, and tri-band WCDMA connectivity (900/1900/2100 MHz). A separate document on a Nokia’s website connects the codename with its commercial name, Nokia C6-00. The only image available shows an outline with the FCC label.

Nokia X6 16GB Now Available at US Flagship Stores

We just got word that the Nokia X6 16GB is now available at Nokia’s US flagship stores in Chicago and New York for $455 USD plus tax. There are no signs of online retailers having them in stock yet, so these may be the only places to get them in the US right now. For example, Amazon still doesn’t have an estimated date.

Nokia X10 Leaked Release Documents – First Symbian^3 Device?

Capture Panoramic Images with QuickPanorama for Nokia N900

Morpho QuickPanorama showed up in the Ovi Store for the Nokia N900 this week. It lets you take panoramic photographs by only moving the camera to capture a wide landscape. Users don’t need to snap multiple pictures and join them later on. The ease of use will definitely attract more people towards panoramic photography.

Nokia N900 Firmware Updated to 3.2010.02-8

The Nokia N900 received an update Tuesday morning to version 3.2010.02-8. It seems to be a minor update since users haven’t noticed any new features. An official changelog hasn’t been shared yet either. The software update is available through the app manager so go ahead and check your N900.

Intel and Nokia Merge Moblin and Maemo to Create Meego

Intel and Nokia announced on Monday that they are merging their popular Moblin and Maemo platforms to form Meego, a Linux based platform that will support a vast range of devices including netbooks, tablets, phones, and more. Devices from Nokia and other manufacturers are expected to be launched later this year.

Symbian^3 Officially Unveiled – Devices Expected to Ship Q3 2010

The Symbian Foundation unveiled the Symbian^3 (S^3) platform on Monday at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. It will include significant usability and interface advances, HDMI support, multi-touch gesture, multi-pages homescreen, and more. The first devices using the OS are expected to ship Q3 this year. Nokia showed a preview of their vision of S^3 in a video.

Gravity for Symbian Adds FourSquare Features

@janole, the creator of the popular Gravity for Symbian, added FourSquare features on his app on Sunday. The initial implementations allow you to check-in, shout out, view venues on map, view friends’ check-ins, and even add new venues. Updates and bug fixes on Gravity come frequently, so you might even see a newer version by the time you read this.
