Nokia Introduces the New Nokia C5

Nokia officially unveiled the Nokia C5 on Tuesday, an affordable smartphone optimized for social networking and sharing. I was actually surprised they introduced it on their Twitter and Facebook page before the press release. It’s fitted with a 2.2-inch screen, 240 x 320 resolution, 3.2 mp camera, 2GB microSD card, and more.

According to Nokia Conversations, the C5 measures 12 x 46 x 112mm. Battery life is good for up to 12 hours talktime (GSM) with a standby for 26 days between charges.

The Nokia C5 is expected to begin shipping in Europe, Eurasia, SEAP, China and MEA during the second quarter of 2010 for estimated EUR 135. There are no other Cseries devices announced as of yet, but this is how Nokia describes the line from the new naming conventions:

The new Cseries represents the core of Nokia portfolio, focusing on social interaction between friends and family.

  • totally different mobiles from Nokia, the c series having all features and special features are also good, i think this mobile will do good in sales
  • Certainly looks better than the querty "mystic" one. Actually this is a phone that has good looks, features and overall value - reminds me a bit of the E51 (just smaller, with no WIFI, but with GPS). Looks like it could become a best-seller... :)
  • Well it not an iPhone, but for someone that does not need all the bells and whistles, Like my dad I thing he would love a phone like this. He also on sprint.

  • Really curious to this model. Looks very good!
But is Nokia able to get up against the trend of
    touch screen mobile phones?
  • That's what I would like to know too. I'm looking forward to the next Nseries devices
  • It's really a great features "It’s fitted with a 2.2-inch screen, 240 x 320 resolution, 3.2 mp camera, 2GB microSD card, and more." in very low cost.
