Nokia DC-11 Review – Extra Power Charger

Power users can drain their devices of battery life within a couple of hours if they wanted to. One solution from Nokia that can help extend the battery life of your devices is the Nokia DC-11 Extra Power charger. Not only does it provide up to one charge, but its slim design and rugged build quality make it really easy to carry in your other pocket or just throw in the bag.

The DC-11 has a capacity of 1500mAh and recharges for about two and a half hours. If you’re at home, it is recommended to connect the AC adapter to the DC-11 and then the DC-11 to your device so that both gets charged at the same time. Since the DC-11 has both the 2mm and micro-USB connector, you can even charge an additional device.

Charging the DC-11 itself requires the 2mm connector. The sales package does not come with it so this could be a problem if you don’t have this type of power adapter lying around already and if you have newer devices like the Nokia N900 and the N97 mini that came with microUSB chargers.

The Nokia DC-11 can be found online for about $45 USD. I think power users and people who travel frequently will find it really handy.

    Thanks for the video, and it is indeed great! But I have a quick question for you.. I have followed the amazon.com link and the only comment on there said that it won't charge the phone if it's low... Now is that true? Because if it is.. it kind of defeats the purpose of having one.. As I am looking to buy one of these (since a lot of times I find myself draining my N900's battery all the way and then get stuck if I need to call someone.. etc)... I need to make sure that it will actually charge if the battery is low and/or dead..

    Hopeless piece of kit the DC-11. I've had 2 DC-11s fail to work with 2 separate N97 minis.

  • Not bad. My wife got me a powermonkey eXplorer for Christmas. I packed it on Monday when I had to fly interstate and saved the day for me. Alternated between charging it with the solar panel and using it to charge the E51 I had. Lots of tips to charge all sorts of things.

  • Overpriced and underpowered. I have a smaller battery pack that I picked up for 40 bucks that 5000mah and can recharge a n900 4 times over. These single charge external batteries are worthless when you can just get a 2nd battery or two for their price.
