Engadget learned from a trusted source that the leaked device supposedly called the Nokia N8 will be announced in the middle of next month. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean it will be available at the same time of the announcement. The authoritative word is September. This makes me wonder how Google pulled off announcing the Nexus One and got it in customers’ hands the next day.

The Nokia N8 (or the Nokia N98 according to others) allegedly features a 4 in. touchscreen, 12 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, Xenon & LED flash, HDMI output, 720p video recording, scratch resistant housing, and probably more that we haven’t heard yet. No official announcements have been made, so don’t be disappointed if these awesome specs aren’t real.
