Video feeds, podcasts, or vodcasts, tv show episodes, blog videos, news and much more can be downloaded and managed directly on your Nokia phone. In this guide, I’ll show you three ways you can add these video content to your Symbian^1 devices like the Nokia N97 or the N97 mini.

Podcasting

The Podcasting app can play audio and video files. The first thing you need to do is find your favorite podcasts and subscribe to it. You can either do this in the directories or the featured podcasts on your phone. Another option is to use the search feature. If you can’t find the podcasts of your favorite site, you can manually enter the address, too.

To update your podcasts, I recommend that you go to the settings and tweak in accordance to your desired setup. You can choose to manually or automatically update your list.

In the podcast list, you can see its percentage of downloaded portion or a check when completed. You can also open the web page link of the corresponding item.

Note that you cannot watch video files that in your Music Player Podcasts library because only MP3s are transferred. You go to Videos & TV for the downloaded video podcasts.

Web Feeds

Web feeds can be found in the web browser where you can manage your XML files such as RSS. Unlike the Podcasting app, it downloads the articles or headlines which contains vodcast links for streaming or direct download in your phone.

To add feeds, you need to visit the web page of your favorite sites then you can subscribe on their RSS. The hard things to find are the Vodcasts of your favorite sites or media groups and I suggest that you use the search engine for that.

For YouTube feeds, you can only see the links in your web feeds library and stream from your web browser.

You can also add video feeds in the Videos & TV application. You can add the RSS or any XML file of your favorite blog shows or news.

Adding video feeds can be done through manual typing the url address of your favorite shows. The video directories that Nokia included only link you to Audio & Video of Ovi Store.

Both MP4 and WMV files can be played on your Nokia N97 and N97 Mini so all iPods & PSPs videos can be added in your feeds.
