Nokia E72 Gets Firmware Update v31. Here’s the Changelog

It looks like April is new firmware month because another device, the Nokia E72, gets an update too. V31 for the Nokia E72 adds new features and bug fixes. I personally like the addition of internet radio. Full changelog after the jump.

    The update probably did not reach your product region yet. I wish I understood how Nokia decides to distribute these updates.

    Any idea when this update will hit North America? I was unable to update my 22.007 version. It is telling me I have the latest update.

    the '7' and '8' key don't work anymore when you press the 'menu' button…

    …they used to work, like all other shortcut buttons (i.e. 1,2,3,4,5,6,9,0,* and #)

    ho many MB are actually the size of this update? my nokia software updater keep continue downloading over 225MB

    So how big is the update? mine's pass 207 mb d.. it's taking 4 hours already to reach this much.. super slow.

    Don't forget about the Ovi Sync application that's in the Applications folder. I didn't get the Bloomberg or Internet Radio applications though, and at the end of the update process it told me there was a problem and it didn't finish even though it did… I don't get it.

    OVI Sync is a truly superb addition to the E72's arsenal, it syncs automatically with OVI contacts and calendar, finally something that's a handy and (whats more important) working(!) feature :)

    I cant get my mailboxes set up since I played with some IMAP folders on server side and it screwed up the mailing client completely. Not even after software update can I set up a mailbox and access it (even my OVI mail does not work…).

    This is (or at least could have been) a great device, but as far as I'm concerned, it is nothing like a “messaging device” it's advertised, mail client sucks on so many accounts, I can't even start to tell (check nokia online discussion forums if you don't believe me…)

    I actually had the same problem here, in Hungary, Europe. No matter what i did neither NSU nor OVI Suite could find an update for my phone. Took it to a Nokia care center, 2 hours later the newest firmware was galopping on the device. Oh, and for no charge (within warranty period)!

    Those of you who couldn't update, should try taking yours to a local Nokia care point, might get lucky ;)
