Nokia 5800 Gets Firmware Update v50. Here’s the Changelog (Update: now with Video)
If you have a Nokia 5800, check the software updater on the device or your computer because some people have seen the v50 update already. One prominent change is kinetic scrolling within the application menu. There are other new features, so check out the changelog after the jump.

Nokia N86 Firmware Updated to v30. Here’s the Changelog
The Nokia N86 has been updated to v30 and we found the changelog. Unfortunately, I have the North American variant that did not receive the update yet. If you have the Nokia N86, connect it to your computer and open up the Software Updater to see if it’s available for you.
Phone Running Meego 1.0 Demoed at Intel Developer Forum
Intel and Nokia announced their creation of the Meego platform a couple of months ago and now there’s a video from Intel showing version 1.0 on several devices including a phone. It looks like a Nokia N97 without a slide-out keyboard and with 4 touch-sensitive buttons similar to Android.
New Messaging Devices Nokia C3, Nokia C6, & Nokia E5 Officially Announced
Nokia announced 3 new affordable handsets designed around messaging and social networking – the Nokia C3, Nokia C6, and Nokia E5. I should get a cookie, because that’s what I guessed for the countdown. The C3 and C6 are expected in the 2nd quarter this year for EUR 90 and 220 respectively, while the E5 is expected in the 3rd quarter for EUR 180.
Nokia To Unveil New Messaging Solutions on Tuesday April 13th
If you head over to Nokia’s event page titled Everyone Connect, there’s a countdown that ends on April 13th, 4AM Eastern. Further investigation leads us to 2 clues that the countdown is about ‘new messaging solutions.’ That vague statement could mean new devices, services, or apps. We won’t know for sure until that clock reaches zero.

Nokia Developer Summit 2010 Moved Back 3 Months To Join Nokia World
We just learned that Nokia Developer Summit 2010, originally planned for June in San Francisco, was moved back to September to join the Nokia World event in London. Last April, the first-ever Nokia Developer Summit opened to a sold-out crowd before the Ovi Store opened. This year, I’m looking forward to what developers will come up with on Symbian^3, Symbian^4 and Meego devices.

App Video: Raemote for Nokia N900, an Apple Remote Widget
I lost the Apple Remote that came with my Macbook, but it’s not a problem thanks to a Nokia N900 widget called Raemote developed by Thomas Perl. RaeMote is a desktop widget for the Nokia N900 that allows you to use the device’s infrared port as an Apple Remote. I created a quick video to show you how well it works.
