Meego 1.0 For Netbooks Out Now. Here’s a Video Overview

Meego released version 1.0 for netbooks today. Support for touch-based devices such as handsets, tablets, and vehicle infotainment systems is expected in October. If you would like to see how it looks like now on a netbook, Brad from Liliputing has a nice video overview after the jump.
MeeGo is an open source, Linux project which brings together the Moblin project, headed up by Intel, and Maemo, by Nokia, into a single open source activity.

It’s still early, so not a lot of third party apps are available. I wouldn’t replace my netbook’s OS with Meego just yet, but it’s actually looking good so far. I look forward to hearing more about the progress on smartphones and tablets.
