Weatherbug for Nokia N900 Now Available at Ovi Store

Weatherbug just showed up at the Ovi Store for the Nokia N900. I recorded a video overview of the app so you can see how it works before downloading the app. There aren’t many apps at the Ovi Store, so it’s kind of a big deal when something new shows up. Take a look.

You can also watch this video in HD on Youtube. Subscribe to the channel to preview the latest videos before they get published on the blog.

Weatherbug

When you first open the application, it asks you for the location either by zip code or city. You can enter more than one and toggle through them on the main panel.

There are four panels on the right that can display maps, forecasts, video, and even a photo outside your nearest weather station. The Weatherbug application gives more information than I really need, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Weatherbug for the Nokia N900 is available for download at the Ovi Store free of charge.

try this link http://store.ovi.mobi/content/36046 if you don't see it in Ovi Store from your Nokia N900

    liar

It doesn't show up in the search on mobile version on the N900, only from the desktop version of the site.

why do u call him liar i just download it from that link ! thanks Mark i appreciate the work you do.

  • Godstoy

I wish people would make sure the apps are there and not just start reposting what is typed here. The app is not on the N900 Ovi store yet.

Have u tried the direct link?

  • Asdf

i went to that link and it still doesn't show up on my n900..

Mark, it's not there in the Ovi Store (direct or not) when connecting with a N900 device in the UK running Global firmware – the only weather related app available is Foreca Weather. Maybe it's a regional restriction, or typical Nokia services incompetence.

  • Milhouse

I take that back (at least partially) – it is now appearing when using the direct link above (not sure what happened previously) but when accessing the store from the Ovi application icon it is not available. I wonder what else I am missing and obviously unable to purchase – developers trying to earn something from Ovi must wonder why they bother.

I guess Nokia may fix this problem in another 6 months, by which time nobody will care. Ovi really is a complete shambles.

–parts of the message may be off topic–
It seems to me that OVI store has quite a chaos for the content.
It does not link you according your personal data in your account it does link you according to your location from which you log in,
When I am in Europe I can see different apps and when I am in China i can see almost no English apps. I've already made this experience with my N97.
I am sending since more than 1 year mails and letters around to various Nokia staff, many promises but actually no result or help.
OVI is a good example on the development of the NOKIA customer care. I am a NOKIA hardliner in terms of product loyalty since 1990.
Bought many many devices — all high end — but Nokia let me down more and more. They do not give me repair on guarantee, if I buy a device in another country, they do not answer on emails,
If you call the support, most people there do not have a clue about technical issues or details. The manuals get more and more worse and do only describe ……if you want to input your name, please click on name……..
Obvious things even a dump user can find out without manual. They use the customers as lab rats for beta, beta products and improve the firmware step by step. So, after about 6month in the market the product gets mature and usable…………. i do not want to go on….. it is an endless story. As I have to travel for business and even have to spend long time abroad I need an international service and reliable products, as I am already willing to pay quite a high price for “high-end” products. Some of my friends changed their buying strategy they buy low-end cheap products or ASIAN clones of the high-end products, they quality of those is almost the same. And if they fail, just buy again because it is really cheap. Is this your future NOKIA?

Definitely something odd going on – not there if you search, shows up via the direct link but won't download (in fact it shows up as 0.0kb).

i am still looking for this app. but nothing so far, probably 1 minute before of the end of the world according with the mayan calendar it will appear

I wish I can help. I'm not sure why it's not showing up properly for everyone

  • secret

This app is not at the Ovi Store. I even went to their web site and they are saying “Coming soon” so the articles stating it's availability may be premature.

I was able to find the app yesterday using the direct link. Such a waste of time. The app doesn't even have a desktop widget. For me OMWeather is still the best weather app available.

Please write a new blog article and bring it to wider attention – maybe someone from Nokia will notice that their Ovi content is inaccessible to many users and do something about it.
