Nokia N9 or N8-01 Leaked. Symbian, 8MP Camera, Qwerty Keyboard

Negri Electronics just landed on a fresh Nokia prototype. They’re calling it the Nokia N9, but I’m guessing it’ll be called an N8 variation (maybe Nokia N8-01) because of its strong resemblance to the Nokia N8. Three photos were provided, but they promise to share the rest of the story soon.

I can’t guess the size of the screen, but from these pics, we can tell it runs on Symbian, 8MP camera with dual LEDs flash, and a slide-out 4-row Qwerty keyboard. I also find it interesting that there’s no Carl Zeiss branding on the camera that’s usually found on the Nseries. We’ll keep our eyes open as this story develops.

    Maybe it's a prototype of N9 hardware running Symbian. The N9 is supposed to run Meego when it's out, isn't it?

    very good! this device with the very new symbian its a bomb but with no N series, it says C0 so i think it will be a C series

    Nokia recently revealed that the N8 will be the last Nseries device that will run Symbian. It was said that new Nseries devices will be based on Meego.

    Why do I keep hearing people claiming it's an Eseries when the software clearly claims N00? I can't wait for their review to be released.

    If this thing is real, its a real shame that its running symbian. symbian should have been ditched by nokia years back. but they stuck with it till the point came when people started to switch platforms. the damage has been done, and if nokia still persists with its dated attitude about users and the user experience, even this n9 or n8-01 or whatever its gonna be called is doomed.

    can you see a micro sd slot? is it by the volume key? or is that for the sim card or is it both……. hdmi must mean its got hd recording capability, the case on this is metal look at the silver around the volume key

    Well, Eldar Murtazin says it's probably the Nokia N8-01, so it's just a QWERTY version of the N8

    Symbian is great! You get every app you need to have a functional phone and there are tons of other apps. Great camera, sync to bluetooth mouse and keyboard and so on and Symbian 3 seems to be really fast. Dont get why you would want Android? Buggy system and you have to download homebrewd apps just to get good features on the phone. Symbian wil live on since it is a finished system, it has all it needs, just have to tweak it for touch and thats what symbian 3 is about.
