Prototype Meego Phone from Aava Shown on Video

Shortly after giving us a teaser, Chippy from Carrypad now has video of the Aava prototype phone running an early developer edition of Meego. A lot of things aren’t working yet, but we get to preview the multitasking, gallery, contacts, and the firefox mobile web browser. Take a look.

Meego is a platform that Nokia will be using on future devices. Carrypad explains that the hardware shown below is ” actually a reference design and development platform and it is unlikely to be a phone you’ll ever be able to buy.”

I think Nokia should work much more on MeeGoo and forget as soon as possible the symbian OS.

isn't it a little too early to say that?

As an iPhone 3G and Maemo N900 user I can honestly say that Symbian is still the most complete Mobile phone OS. Nokia need to seriously speed up their UI shakeup for Symbian^4 and do a major PR offensive demonstrating cross-platform Qt on Symbian in order to regain mindshare for Symbian though.

The problem with symbian is not age, is hardware, nokia realeases only just to work hardware for the os, not the best. That is why symbian doen't have the flashy look, because the hardware can't handle it.
