Nokia E7 to be Announced at Nokia World 2010 as the New Flagship

Reuters reported this morning that the Nokia E7 will be announced at Nokia World 2010 as the new flagship device from Nokia. They cited two sources with direct knowledge of Nokia’s plans. Reuters’ sources also shared that it will have a large touchscreen (how large???) and a full keyboard. Our guess is that the Nokia E7 is the leaked RM-626 phone.

Is this the Nokia E7?

If our guess is correct, the Nokia E7 will run on Symbian^3 and have a 4-inch screen with 640×360 resolution. On the back, it will have an 8 megapixel camera with dual LEDs flash. We’ll find out for sure at Nokia World according to the Reuters article.

It’s all speculation for now, but Nokia World is just around the corner! We still don’t know the pricing for the Nokia E7 or when it will become available. Does the Nokia E7 make you think twice about the Nokia N8? Would you rather have a larger screen or the brighter Xenon flash?

*laughs* It’s just as I planned. I used my Kyōka Suigetsu to make ALL Nokia fans believe that the N9 would be announced at Nokia world. In reality, Nokia will be announcing the E7 and making a whole bunch of fans disappointed. *laughs maniacally*

If by N9 you mean the first MeeGo device, they have already hinted many times that it should arrive only later this year. But I’m not sure Nokia has already ruled out the possibility of a last Maemo device being released, the Harmattan release, which will (would) maintain many Maemo elements, but switch to Qt as the main development platform.

I’m only not sure how they might release such a device now, but keep the interest for it and for the upcoming MeeGo device, they would have to find a very interesting way to differentiate them, e.g. make the Maemo very cheap and the MeeGo very expensive.

    Still in N8

how is this considered a flagship phone with only a resolution of 640×360? i’m really getting iffy about nokia and where they are going. ( i still love my n900 to death and is waiting to see what meego has to offer)

Let’s wait until the official announcement. I agree with the resolution though… 640×360 on a 4-inch device isn’t going to be sharp

    • Sid

its not considered a flagship phone, if its the E7, nokia’s numbers run up to 9. the E9 would be a flagship phone

640×360 @ 4″ is passable consider the physics in resolution/screen size over distance (google it) you really shouldn’t notice a difference at all just like the new Iphone the only differences you can make out are colour/contrast/black levels

at least as i understand it

If the E7 is indeed the phone shown in the images, then yes, it totally stops my interest in the N8.
    Fingers crossed!

It means less resolution than the N97, given the fact it produces the very same number of Pixels over a Bigger screen, So, there is more space between each pixel….. BAD BAD THING!

what the heck is wrong with nokia? they’re still using a crappy mobile o.s. they should start moving to mainstream mobile o.s. and the most viable choice would be android. If they won’t start the change and continue manufacturing dumbphones and low class smartphones then they’ll stink
