Running behind the Nokia N8 is Symbian ^3, which introduces several major advances, including support for pinch-to-zoom on the device’s 3.5in capacitive touchscreen. The Nokia N8 also offers multiple, homescreens which can be loaded with widgets. The new 2D and 3D graphics architecture takes full advantage of the Nokia N8′s hardware acceleration for faster and more responsive user interface. You can also enjoy HD-quality video with Dolby Digital Plus surround sound by plugging into your home theatre system.
Multitasking was also shown in the demo. Symbian^3 promises to deliver greater memory management allowing more applications to run in parallel for a faster multitasking experience.
One more thing that was shown was support for USB-on-the-Go. A 250GB external drive was connected to the Nokia N8 and you can even copy or move files around.
We are looking forward to the official release and review this device for you.
