You probably know by now that there’s an upcoming short film called, ‘The Commuter‘ shot on the Nokia N8. It will feature Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl), Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire) and Pamela Anderson (Baywatch). Nokia UK just posted a behind-the-scenes video and you can see a very cool steadicam system hooked up to the N8. Check it out.

Steadicam systems are used to stabilize cameras so the image seems to float to the viewers. Without stabilization, the video would be jerky when the person holding the camera is moving. You can see a really good shot of the steadicam around 1:10 and you can see the stabilized image at the start of the video.

The cameraman isn’t looking the Nokia N8 either. It could mean that he’s using the Nokia N8′s video-out capability to watch what he’s filming on the bigger monitor attached to his rig.

It’s cool to see what’s going on behind the scenes. I can’t wait to see the final results.
