New Nokia N8 Ad Says It’s Not Technology, It’s What You Do With It

Nokia is going to push out a bunch of videos in the build up to Nokia World 2010. The hamster mobile charger for the Nokia N8 that we posted last week was first in the series. The theme is, “It’s not technology, it’s what you do with it.” A new video is now live on Nokia’s YouTube channel, and I was told you might even see a couple of these videos on TV.

Nokia N8 Sample Video From Helsinki HookUp 2010

Nokia was at Helsinki HookUp 2010 Proskate & Skate Finnish Championship and recorded the event with the Nokia N8. The final video had some professional editing done, but it looks like most, if not all, shots were handheld. The quality looks pretty good. Check it out.

Official Interactive Unboxing of the Nokia N8 (It’s hot, sizzling hot)

post thumbnail

Nokia just uploaded their own interactive unboxing of the Nokia N8 on Youtube. You get to select which unboxer to follow, but I’d have to say Suzy’s unboxing is the most interesting. What other tech unboxing videos do you know include a girl saying, “the bendable, the strong… actually just the kind of guy I’m looking for?”

The official Ovi Blog asked their Music team what they’re looking forward to most at Nokia World and one of the members’ response caught my eye. The User Agent Profiles for the Nokia C6-01 and Nokia C6-02 are already resting comfortably in Nokia’s servers and they reveal some specs. We’ve seen leaked official photos of the Nokia C6-01, but this is the first time I’ve heard of the C6-02. The UAProfiles don’t show much, but read on to see what we uncovered.

Reuters reported this morning that the Nokia E7 will be announced at Nokia World 2010 as the new flagship device from Nokia. They cited two sources with direct knowledge of Nokia’s plans. Reuters’ sources also shared that it will have a large touchscreen (how large???) and a full keyboard. Our guess is that the Nokia E7 is the leaked RM-626 phone.

The official Meego website has new screenshots in its UI design guidelines that show how operators and OEMs can customize the user experience. We’re not exactly sure which UI Nokia will use, but the photos give us an idea how it might look in their upcoming Meego device, the Nokia N9.

6 Reasons the Nokia N8 Might Hit the Stores Sept. 14th

post thumbnail

Julien Fourgeaud wrote some very convincing reasons on his blog that the Nokia N8 could start spreading to consumers on September 14th instead of the official “end of Q3.” We hear a lot of rumors in the blogosphere, but I’d pay attention to Julien because of his history with Nokia. He previously worked on development of various Eseries and Nseries devices and was with Symbian Foundation until 3 months ago to form his own consulting company.
