Nokia N8 Sponsors the Vimeo Festival+Awards in NYC
The top names in film, art, and tech, and anyone interested in videoblogging or filmmaking are going to be at the Vimeo Festival/Awards in New York City this weekend. If you click on the sponsors page, you’ll see the Nokia N8 on top of the page! I don’t know what Nokia is doing at the event, but I’m sure the videobloggers are going to fall in love with the Nokia N8′s video and sharing capabilities.
Nokia N8 Modified with 30 FPS & Autofocus on Video Recording
A hacker by the name of hyperX claims to have modified the camera on the Nokia N8 to add 30 frames per second recording (versus the default 25fps) and continuous autofocus. There’s a video and screenshot for evidence. Continuous autofocus is cool, but the clicking sounds are disconcerting. Go watch the video.

Nokia’s Conspiracy for Good Heading to Television, Console Games & More Cities
Nokia is planning to bring Conspiracy For Good (CFG) to television, console games, and more cities according to Brian Seth Hurst. He’s the CEO of The Opportunity Management Company, a transmedia content firm that worked on the project. Heroes creator Tim Kring was also part of the social benefit entertainment pilot. They are already checking out new locations for the next chapter.
Nokia’s Tero Ojanpera on CNET Conversations
CNET just published their conversation with Nokia’s executive vice president of mobile services, Tero Ojanpera, on video. He talks about cross-platform development, Ovi Store, the US market, Meego, future plans, and more. There’s even a little mention of Android. The video is about 18 minutes long. Check it out.
Here’s the Nokia N8 Ad That Will Broadcast in the UK Tomorrow
Nokia UK just uploaded an updated version of the Nokia N8 ad which will begin to broadcast tomorrow evening during X Factor. The 40-second ad’s message is “It’s not technology, it’s what you do with it.” I definitely like this edited version than the previous one, because the new ad actually shows the Nokia N8 smartphone front and center.
