Nokia apologized to Ovi Store publishers last Saturday for the delays in getting their content approved. Ron Liechty, Manager of the Forum Nokia Online Community, mentioned that the response to Ovi Store has been overwhelming and they are not able to keep up with the demand. It usually takes 5 days for approval, but publishers may now have to wait a little longer.

Swype for Nokia N8 Now Official at Ovi Store

We previously told you how to get Swype on your Nokia N8 even though Nokia claimed it was only meant for the C7. Today, a version of Swype for the Nokia N8 is officially available at the Ovi Store. Just to be safe, uninstall the previous version before installing the new one.

Nokia is Looking at Partnerships, No Longer Trying to Make or Buy Everything

Nokia is opening up to outside innovation according to Robert Anderson, Senior VP of corporate alliances and business development. He told the audience at the Money Talks Forum, “We are no longer trying to make everything or buy everything — we are looking at partnering as a serious strategy.” Current examples are the partnerships with Intel for Meego and Yahoo for mail and map services.

Meego 1.1 SDK Beta Released Days Before Meego Conference

The release enables you to develop, install, and debug applications, as well as run applications on the Nokia N900, netbook, and Aava devices with MeeGo. Mobbler for Nokia N8 or Symbian^3 Devices Now Out in Beta

Mobbler is now out in beta for the Nokia N8 or other Symbian^3 devices like the C7, C6-01, and E7. Mobbler allows you to listen to your Last.fm radio stations using keywords or artist names. You can also scrobble tracks played using the standard music player. If you’re interested in taking part of the beta testing, request to join through the sign up form.

Nokia E7 to Start Shipping December

The official Nokia twitter account revealed this morning the scheduled shipping date of the Nokia E7. They responded to an anxious consumer that the E7 will start shipping December 10th 2010. (UPDATE: a Nokia spokesperson told us they meant to say Dec 2010, not Dec 10th). Exact dates will vary by country, but at least we now have a solid date to go by. If you need reminding, the Nokia E7 is a Symbian phone announced at Nokia World with a 4-inch CBD capacitive touchscreen, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and more.

Nokia Responds to hyperX’s Nokia N8 Camera Hack

Last month, hyperX released a hack for the camera on the Nokia N8 that enabled 30 frames per second with continuous autofocus for video and 100% JPEG compression for photos. The differences were very minimal unless you zoomed in really close. The file sizes were also larger. Today at the official Nokia Conversations, Damian Dinning shares his thoughts on the hack.

Framestore Shows off FX Studio for Nokia N8 at TEDx, Shows off The Nokia Blog Too!

Simon Gosling, Senior Producer with Framestore, talked about FX Studio at TEDxNewsSt. FX studio is an upcoming app for the Nokia N8 that will let you add Hollywood-quality special effects to your video clips. If you didn’t already know, Framestore created visual effects for Avatar, Prince of Persia, Sherlock Holmes, and even the Nokia N8 ads broadcasting in the UK. Simon’s session is available on video.
